WILFRED MARK, a native of Trinidad, began to study Caribbean rhythms and dances at the age of
fourteen. He later trained in jazz, ballet, and both Graham and Horton techniques in Port-of-Spain and in New York. He was
a principal dancer with Repertory Dance Theater of Trinidad and Tobago for eleven years and a dancer/actor with The Derek
Walcott Theatre Company for four years.
Since 1987, Wilfred has worked as Co-Director, Choreographer, Dancer, and
Drummer with Dance Kaiso and has taught on the faculties of San Francisco State, Sonoma State, and Stanford Universities.

ROBBIN FREY has served as Dancer, Choreographer, Production Manager, Costumer, and
Director of Dance Kaiso since 1987. She has a Master's degree in Dance Ethnology, specializing in African-derived dances of
the Caribbean, and has also trained in Martha Graham technique.
Prior to 1987, Robbin participated in the paratheatrical experiments of Jerzy Grotowski and company, performed as an actor
in Paris with New English Workshop Theatre (NEWT), and collaborated as dancer/choreographer with several composers in New
York and in the SF Bay Area, including Karlton Hester (Contemporary Jazz Art Movement) and Eddie Moore (Spaceshuttle Omnibus).
She is interested in the intersection of dance, theatre, and the healing arts and has been teaching since 1983.

VAL SERRANT, from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, has been performing with Dance Kaiso since
1987. A multi-talented drummer, percussionist, steel pan player, and vocalist, Val has been performing internationally for
over thirty years.
He has played with Babatunde Olatunji and with virtually every African and Caribbean group in the
greater Bay Area. Val was a founding member of Pan-Demonium Steel Orchestra. He is also the Public Relations Officer for Parry's
Pan School in Trinidad.
