About Di

Di and friends

Di has been making teddy bears for more than 11 years. Most of her bears are one of a kind, but she occasionally makes a limited edition, or an open edition, such as Maurice (2004 Toby Nominee), the popular Pauline, and Little Joe (who just turned 10). She has also designed numerous prototypes for the Annette Funicello Collection. Her work is on display at The Teddy Bear Museum in Naples, Florida.

She custom dyes the mohair (her innovative formulas have included coffee, fruit juices and even Kool-aid) and accents her bears with antique shoe-button eyes, aged lace, and vintage jewelry, hats and props. Movable limbs and airbrush accents complete the bear's personality. She stuffs each one with Polyfil, plastic pellets, or steel shot.

In April of 2002, Di and her bears were the subject of a feature article in the UK publication, Teddy Bear Times.

A five-time award nominee; a Teddy Bear of the Year winner; an artistic leader in the ever-popular teddy bear world... that’s our Di!
