HP's Rating: - 5 - I loved Dealing with Dragons. It always is a great book to keep in mind when a book is in need. If you like fantasy and fairy tales this book is for you. It is comical, exciting, suspenseful, fantisful and always enchanting. Cimorene is a character who you fall in love with after the first word she speaks. Kazul is on of hte wizests dragons (and only dragons) that I know. She is always thoughtful and kind. Morwen is a not so witchy witch. She may fly on a broom and cast a spell but that doesn't hold a candle to that read kind heart that she has. Most wiches are said to be mean and turn people to stone and cast wicked spells. But Morwen thinks that the word "Wich" is just a name, wich in my opinion was very smart. Therandil is the only other sort of important character. He is the most annoying boy in the world. My favorite character is Morwen because of her funky ways of thinking.

KA's Rating: - 5 - I liked this book because it had a bit of excitement. I think they could change it by making it more humorous. I can't really compare it to any other books because it is one of a kind. My favorite part is when Alianora finds out that soapy water (with lemon juice) melted wizards. Overall, I would give this book two thumbs up.

KL's Rating: -5 - It was funny and exciting. Kazul was my favorite character because everyone always listened to her. I liked Kazul's cave because there were so many rooms like the treasure room with all the treasure. Anteroll was a wizard who was very annoying and humorous because he kept coming back and saying he was going to win. If you ilke Dealing with Dragons you should read the rest of the series.

LA's Rating: - 4.5 - This book is great for anyone who likes a good adventure. If you are looking for a book that puts you in suspense this is the one to read. Dealing with Dragons is the next fantasy series, that everyone will be talking about. Cimorene is a spunky, outgoing, special, unique, tomboy, interesting, cool, different. brave, inproper, disobedient girl and outstanding.

    Discussion Themes:

They all agreed that they liked the four main elements of the book (in this order) character, plot, setting and language.

    Discussion Questions:

  1. Why does Alianora want to be Cimerene's friend?
  2. Why did Cimorene want to do the fireproofing spell?
  3. Describe Cimerone, what is she like?
  4. List some of the unusual (for a princess) things Cimerone did.
  5. What similarities do you have with Cimerone? What differences?
  6. What is the power of Colin's stone?
  7. There is a lot of humor in this book. Pick a part that made you laugh and share it with the group.
  8. What happened when Cimorene unintentionally releases a jinn?

Activities and Food :

This meeting was a sleep-over. We had a book swap portion of the evening. The other activities included a scavenger hunt to find the four ingrediants that Cimerone had to find for her spell, wolfsbane, unicorn water, powered hens teeth and white eagles feathers.
The girls had dinner (roast hen, dragon eggs/potatoes, gravy, hens beaks/carrots, bread and cider) and played melting tag before a hot tub.
