The Cakeworks... A Gallery of Edible Art, Los Angeles, is the brainchild of Artist/Architect Diane Jacobs. In 1988, Jacobs envisioned, then launched a business that would harmoniously merge her concurrent interests in both culinary and artistic areas of creativity. The result-- Exceptional, one-of-a-kind art pieces, which incidentally happen to be cakes!
Diane Jacobs began her artistic endeavors in Yellow Springs,Ohio. Jacobs attended the Art Institute of Chicago, then later the University of Cincinnati, where she majored in Architecture. As artist and proprietor of the Cakeworks, Diane is able to incorporate her drawing, painting, and structural sensibilities into edible works of art

Jacobs has appeared as a guest on a number of national television shows, most recently the Rosie O'Donnell Show, Home and Family, and HGTV's The Carol Duvall Show. Her distinctive designs have been featured in Gourmet, Bon Appetit, W, Los Angeles Magazine, Brides, In Style, Buzz, as well as in a number of books, including The Perfect Wedding by Maria McBride-Mellinger (HarperCollins), and Beverly Clark's Weddings: A Celebration (Wilshire Publications)

Diane is profiled extensively in The Eleven Commandments of Wildly Successful Women by Pamela Gilberd(Macmillan Spectrum), and in the recently published Passion Rules: Inspiring Women in Business by Alexandra Powe-Allred (Oasis Books).
