Missouri Foxtrotter Mare -- DOB: 31 Aug., 1979

Misty is a very gentle mare. She's taught alot of kids and adults to ride thru the years. She is a registered Foxtrotter, BUT, it's because her dam, listed as "Mary Alice- MFT# F12738" is NOT her real dam. Her REAL dam was a mare colored alot like Misty and she did Foxtrot, but she threw APPALOOSA babies!!! Misty didn't show Appaloosa as a foal, so they got by with registering her as a Foxtrotter, by "switching papers". (I've researched all this!) Of course, now, you can look at Misty and SEE she is very obviously part Appaloosa. She has ALL Characteristics-- White Scelera, Striped Hooves, Mottled Skin, and a few spots. Her SIRE, listed on her papers is her TRUE SIRE. She does have some GOOD Foxtrotter breeding in her! (I've been "criticized" thru the years for not breeding her to nice registered Foxtrotter studs and getting good papered babies. I refuse to do that because of the "false" pedigree on her mom's side. I do NOT BELIEVE in lying about an animals pedigree!!) I breed Misty to my registered Appaloosa studs.

Regardless of her pedigree, she is an excellent riding mare and a great mom. She's very gentle and likes attention. I bought her a few years ago for my daughter to ride and my daughter loves her.
