The Odessa Westside Lions Contribute to Scholarships

Westside Lions Club President Carl Dockall presents a check for $1,500.00 dollars to Lions District 2-T3 Vice District Governor Garland Tiner. This money matches funds of the district for scholarship opportunities for Junior and Senior students. Students participate in three categories of competition: Diabetic Essay, Drug Awareness Speech and Outstanding Youth. Each of these categories will have scholarship money for the first three places. The first place winner in each category will then go on to the State Lions Convention in Lubbock, Texas , June 6, 2009. This competition will have scholarship money for the first two places.
