Mary Sokolowski, Ph.D.

Dr. Sokolowski is a communications and advocacy professional who has worked an educator, lobbyist, editor, writer, administrator and waitress. 

Dr. Sokolowski received her doctorate in English from the State University of New York—Binghamton.  She then went on to work as an administrator at SUNY, establishing the university’s federal relations office and helping to secure over $20 million in state and federal research funding. 

For the past four years, Dr. Sokolowski has been working in Rhode Island as a community and government liaison, focusing on education and health care issues.  In addition to her academic training, Dr. Sokolowski has been certified as an EQ Leader© consultant by Six Seconds Consulting Group and has completed Levels 1-5 of Shambhala International’s training in mindfulness and awareness practice. 

Jane McCool, Ph.D.

Dr. McCool practiced as a clinical nurse for over twenty years before returning to graduate school and becoming a nurse-educator.  She is licensed for clinical practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Dr. McCool’s areas of specialty include wellness, preventative care and community health nursing.  She received a Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island and is certified to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction© programs.  She is current on the faculty at Northeastern University. 

Diane Hoffman, MFA

Professor Hoffman has been a professional artist for 42 years and an art educator for 15 years.  She holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  She has worked as a designer and an illustrator.  In addition to her ongoing work as a painter and printmaker, Diane has branched out into the field of textile design and creates imaginative and unique knitwear.  She is currently on the faculty of The Rhode Island School of Design.

Rebecca Rex

Rebecca Rex’s grant proposals have supported organizations including large and small museums and galleries, non-profit organizations and universities.  She is a gifted editor, balancing a unique sense of style with a keen eye for precision and accuracy.
