April 5-6

“School of the Soldier” ECWSA only – School of the Renaissance Soldier:  Gibson Ranch, Sacramento  April 5-6.  The FAC, Army of Montrose will participate as the Scottish Artillery group at this event, Setup is Friday.  Web site for the event is http://www.RenaissanceSoldier.com  Come join the FAC at this event!

April 12-15

“FAC and ARM  This year as our special outing, the FAC will join the American River Muzzleloaders for their Premier event at Brushy Creek.  This primitive site requires “in costume” presence from set up till tear down.  Besides the period encampment, live shooting either on the “trail walk” for competition shooting and period tactical musketry will be offered.   Setup is April 11th.  Come join the FAC at this event and “show our stuff” to the other period re-enactors! 

April 26-27

Woodland Scottish Games - A Montrose Army tradition for 7 years at the Yolo County Fairgrounds. This is the largest area Scottish Games and our attendance is central to portray 17th century life.  Drilling, impromptu demos, interactions and processions for recruitment purposes. A "Walk Through History" demonstration is held daily for public. New members are welcome to attend this event.  Contact Dale Shinn, dgshinn@earthlink.net, setup is Friday night. June 22-29

Fair Oaks Tudor Faire - Encampment setup is Friday night the Free Artillerie Company will join with Cardiff Rose and other groups for battle reenactments.  This is an ECWSA sanctioned event. Contact Dale for FAC gate listing.

July 12-13

Fort MacArthur Days- Setup is Friday night, the Free Artillerie Company will join Hampton’s encampment and 17th Century military presentation.  A small participant fee is charged by the host.  This is an ECWSA sanctioned event.  Contact Dale for FAC coordination.

Mount Shasta Renaissance Fair- Tentative – Last year was the revival of this event.  Unknown at this time if it will reappear but mark your calendars.  Further information to follow.

Sept 13

Fresno Scottish Games – This premier event of the Fresno Scottish Chapter is held at Roedding Park.  Set up is Friday for this one day event.  The FAC along with the Gordon Highlanders and other reenactment groups present Scottish military history on an exhibition field twice daily.  Contact Dale for gatelisting.

Dixon Scots Festival - A one day Saturday event with set up Friday night. ECW encampment, drill and battle with the Earl of Stamford’s Regt. of Foote, for the third year in a row. Large joint living history encampment drill, demos & tactical, work with public for recruiting purposes. A "Walk Through History" skirmish daily for public. New members are welcome to attend this event contact Dale Shinn, dgshinn@earthlink.net,  prior to event. Members must arrive after 3pm Friday, or before 9:30 am Sat. Faire hours are 10-9pm Sat.
