Heidi and Amelia's Pony Show Adventure
On September 20, 2000 Heidi Graham, Amelia Goddard and Santa the pony competed in a show at the LA County Fair. Here's the story of their adventure!
Heidi and Amelia competed in an event called the "Concours D'Elegance". Entries were judged on the elegance of the total package: driver, passengers and horse.
Heidi used her turn-of-the-century governess cart. This tiny little cart was used by governesses to take children out for a ride. Heidi's pony, Santa, is a Welsh pony stallion and the cutest little horse you ever saw. He's also an accomplished show horse and a very macho guy.
It's a lot of work to get ready for a show - the cart had to be spotless, the harness polished, and of course Santa had to look great.

In the show ring, the judges asked for a trot. They went pretty fast! That blur in the foreground is them.
Next to the other entries, Heidi, Amelia and Santa looked tiny!! The crowd oohed and aaahed - they were SO cute!!!

What a great adventure! The next day, Amelia is still beaming.
