SUZUKI
1983 Suzuki GS1100esd
This
was one of the original "superbikes" of the eighties.
This
bike is fast. Although it is somewhat dated as far
as handling and braking are concerned, I have made some mods to
alleviate these drawbacks.
-
Stainless brake lines with galfer pads. Front and rear.
No more squish.
-
Metzeler me33 comp front tire. me55a rear. Good grip
for the money.
- Progressive
fork springs with the anti-dive enabled, no spacer,
15 wt PJ1 fork oil. Telefix fork brace. Really helps
on this bike. This year, RACE TECH gold valves.
- Works
performance rear shocks. Nice improvement. Much better
than the old stockers.
- K&N
superbike bars. Nice fit and comfortable too.
To
date very minimal engine mods. Dynojet, splitfire and opened airbox.
It's not that I don't want to do more but I don't have the scratch.
HONDA
1985 Honda VF700F Interceptor.
O.K.
This bike I purchased for my wife, but I still have to do the work
(so far). This bike was the Japanese answer to the tariff
war of the early eighties. It seems the 750's were taxed at
a higher rate so the logical solution was to reduce displacement
by longer stroke.
Few
mods here.
- Yoshimura
slip ons.
- Dunlop
tires front/rear.
- Complete wash,
wax and check out.
