With the 3/4 bit drill a hole about 1 - 1 1/2 from the first
baffle.


 
Now, in through this hole into the first baffle. You want to line the
new hole up with the end of the pipe that enters the muffler.

Make a mark about three inches from the end of the muffler.


 
Cut through the mesh. You can use a hacksaw here if you don't
have access to a power tools.

Inside the mesh are two pipes, one inside the other. Cut through
both of these pipes completely.
