With the block of wood on the pipe start hammerin'. 
Hold the tube in one hand to keep the muffler from sliding.


 
After a good beatin', remove the tube from  the muffler.  Don't
worry if the packing falls apart at this point.  We wont need it again.


 
Here's what the inside of your stock muffler looks like.

 
If the packing hasn't fallen apart, remove it completely.


 
Mark off the baffle walls with a marker or chalk.  You can see
them through the mesh but I did use the lines as a visual
reference for the next steps.
