Topics

(Some will be in newsletters, and some will be in articles on the website in tips, tricks, and articles)

Trailer weights vs tow vehicle capacity.

Or "How to take the worry out of being close!"

Critical issue that most newbies ignore.  Including Motorhome newbies.  Many rigs are overweight empty and dry!  Average full timer needs 1500-2000 lbs. of  load capacity after filling up all the tanks and the propane.

Seasonal routing

Had we followed our original itinerary we would have ended up in Florida just in time for hurricane season.  Yuma in July was no picnic either.

Traveling in high winds

In one state I asked a trooper when they decided to limit traffic during wind and storms.  Answer?  "When they start to get blown off the road" . . . .sheesh!

Location affects price

Why buying in another state can cost thousands less!  Where the prices are high and why.

The morning gathering

RV park etiquette and how to fit in.  (More important how not to get tagged as the one to avoid!)

Checking out a used RV

Some of the lessons I learned and my own RV checklist I used to compare and avoid a bad decision.

Club affiliations

These are really not optional.  Some are not as good as they are cracked up to be.

Cheap campgrounds

Some of the things we learned about how to stay for 3-5 bucks a day.  And when not to!

Boondocking ain't for us (now)

Some reasons why it's OK to want to watch TV and take long hot showers, and what the tradeoffs are.  And how to do it.

RV Types

Not the rigs!  The stereotypes you'll meet on the road!

The big goofs common to RVrs

Hooking up (you thought) and driving off 5 inches when you hear the sickening sound of the trailer dropping on, and crushing your truck bed!  How I have so far managed to avoid that one, and the ones I didn't.

RV entertainment

When backing into a space, some folks provide hours of amusement for the rest of us!  And how we provide it in return!

Can the neighbors hear us arguing

Or our TV?  What about the generator or our Sat dish?  More RV etiquette and how we learned the hard way

Trailer tires

Lot o recalls out there and load problems.

Living in close quarters

No not the neighbors, the two or more in the rig, trying to figure out how to get the spouse to go back to  . . . something for 8 hours a day!

The awning

OK so I didn't know what that lever on the bottom was for a few months!

Factory repair visit

Who what when where how.  Really fun if you are in the right frame of mind!

Daily driving

Getting out of the "gotta get there today" mode.

Saving money on the road -length of stays

How to save hundreds a month.

Carrying leveling and stabilizing lumber

No you don't need twenty 2X4s to level up

Service on the road

Covered a lot in the past but this is the insurance and dependability inside track.

Is there really a showstopper?

New feeling for us-when you get a showstopper, ya can't quit and go home.

Traveling with another rig as a caravan.

Just did this once and was a real eye opener!

Tow mirrors

Real issues here, and how to make the cheapies work

Traffic

My solutions to downtown traffic on the road.

Turning

How to keep the tree branches on the tree instead of in your rig

Backing

An ex trucker told me this stuff and I look like a pro.

Propane systems

Almost had a fire and explosion.  How not to.

Water pressure regulation

How to keep your water under control.

110-volt cautions and batteries.

Testing outlets voltage etc.  Think the park electric has got to be OK?  Not necessarily so. Seen a few melt down a control panel.  How I avoided it.

Fulltimer mail

And some residency tips

Fulltimer communications

What I've found works in regular language (Thanks Chuck)  Lynn will edit this so I avoid the tech jargon.
