Our small Monsey office generates hundreds of thousands of hours of Torah learning each year to locations across the globe. Now, we have far outgrown the premises, and our efficiency in keeping up with orders and shipments, among many other functions,has been severely compromised by our lack of space. This results not only in frustration on the part of our staff and supporters, but actual hours lost to learning.
New Horizons
Fortunately, with our current lease about to expire, we have found an ideal new location for an expanded, reorganized office. It is a 5,000-square-fo ot facility that can be modified to exactly suit our needs. Monsey has exceedingly little commercial space to rent but this facility is a warehouse that is for sale. Our monthly mortgage would be as little as $7 a square foot so that this option turns out to include very low rent. Within this new headquarters, we will triple our capacity for the dissemination of tapes and learning materials, and greatly facilitate the planning and execution of new projects and established projects like our Annual Tisha B'Av Event.
In addition, we will be able to fill some important new functions:
1-800 Torah Tapes
With excellent Torah tapes emanating from many diverse sources, we hope to create a central "tape source" that can be accessed through our toll-free number, 1-800-Torah Tapes.
Retail Shmiras Haloshon Materials/Torah Tape Store
Monsey is a cross-roads for those travelling between northern New Jersey, the Catskills and Canada. A retail Torah tape outlet at our new location would be a welcome and successful enterprise both for local residents and the many out-of-towners who pass through Monsey.
The down payment for the building will be sponsored, and we are inviting a limited number of partners to join us. Partnership can be a shul or a group. The investment is only $1,000 (can be $83/mo x 12 months), and will entitle the sponsoring partner to a plaque in the new building in their honor and z'chus. In addition, your organization will receive a beautiful plaque identifying you as a proud member of the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation Network, dedicated to the ideals of Shmiras Haloshon (Proper Speech) and Ahavas Yisrael (Love of all the Jewish People).
I have pledged to get donations from Dallas in the form of 2 plaques. It would be a wonderful form of appreciation to the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation for all the years of tapes that have been provided to our community.
These donations will create a permanent identification of your shul or group with
the many deep and beautiful Torah concepts of "bein adam l'chaveiro" that
we promote. On a very real level, your generosity will be responsible
for bringing Torah to many additional thousands of people.
We hope you will join us in this exciting new phase of the Foundation's growth. It is a unique chance to greatly strengthen all of Klal Yisrael, and reap the rewards -- both immediate and eternal -- that accrue to those who help illuminate the world with Torah. Each plaque is $1000 or $83/mo x 12 months. People participating as a group of 5, could each give $18/mo x 12 months. Individual donations are also encouraged. Depending on how the donations come in, I can group them together so as to obtain 2 plaques for Dallas.
