We are filled with trembling over the difficult situaiton developing in our Holy Land, where no one knows what the next day will bring.
"For behold Your foes are in uproar and those who hate You have raised their head. They plot deviously against Your nation and take counsel against those whom You protect." [Tehillim 83] Through our sins this verse has become reality, one that touches on matters of life and death for all who live in our Holy Land.
Dear brethren, awaken and become energized during these days over the plight of the nation of Hashem which is as a lonely lamb among seventy wolves. Pour out words before the Creator of the universe, beseech Him to have mercy and show grace to His nation in the face of all who rise against us to destroy us, and may He undermine the intentions of those who hate us and erase the plotting of our enemies.
It is a holy obligation on each and every one of us to strengthen ourselves in Torah and fear of Heaven in observance of mitzvos and acts of kindness, and to increase our tefillos and entreaties - "If only He will have pity on an impoverished and destitute nation, if only He will have mercy..." - and may we soon merit Hashem's salvation of His eternal nation, and the coming of the go'el tzedek, quickly in our days, omein.
This is to alert acheinu beis Yisroel here in America to the above statement that was issued by the nation's Torah giants in Eretz Yisrael in response to the current situation. It is incumbent on us to share in the yoke of the "nation of Hashem that dwells in Zion" and to increase our tefillos and entreaties for its peace and wellbeing and so that we may experience consolation with the arrival of Moshiach tzidkeinu, omein.
