EFFECTIVE REFERENCE LIBRARIAN
by Diana M. Thomas, Ann T. Hinckley, and Elizabeth R. Eisenbach. Academic Press, 1981

PREFACE (pix)

This book is designed to introduce library school students and new librarians to the context and complexity of actual reference work. The skills required by reference librarians are so numerous and varied that reference courses easily become fragmented and emphasize only isolated aspects of reference service.
