Brenda Moss - Artist

Welcome graphic

Artist’s Statement:

As an artist I’ve always been fascinated by color, light, and texture.  I find the immediacy of water-based paints and collage applications best meet my need to translate my perceptions of these to paper or canvas.  Most of my work centers on nature and on family.  Both provide endless ideas, themes and moods.  I find there is always something beautiful lurking in my surroundings just waiting to be interpreted.

Brenda Moss has presented one-woman exhibits at The Memphis Botanic Gardens, Memphis Jewish Community Center’s Shainberg Gallery, Germantown Community Theatre, West Tennessee Regional Art Center, Carnegie Center for Arts and History, Ned R. McWherter Cultural Arts Center and Tippah County (MS) Historical Museum.   Her work has been included and received awards in numerous national, regional, and local exhibitions.  She has served as president of the Jackson Art Association and on the Board of Directors of the Memphis/Germantown Art League.  Ms. Moss received an A.A. in Fine Arts from Northeast Mississippi Junior College and has studied with numerous watercolorists including Joe Fettingis, Tony Couch, and Fred Rollinson.
