That lament is usually heard when something we judge as "bad" happens to us, such as I did when I lost my fortune almost 18 years ago (see Foreword). It is a natural reaction when we have no idea that we are co-creators of our own reality.

Lately, I have been hearing that same question from people I love dearly. After breaking through the barriers and touching that Oneness that IS love, many have asked WHY ME?, why I have taken the time to reach out to THEM in particular. They see me as aware, happy and successful in life, and themselves as troubled, unhappy and unlovable. Because their experiences in life have provided evidence of THEIR belief, they cannot see what I see, the God-Self WITHIN themselves that they are in the process of discovering.

It is hard to convince them of their RARITY. With more than 5 billion souls on this planet, they feel insignificant and lost in those sheer numbers. Both Brian Grattan (Mahatma I & II) and Kryon suggested that the number of consciously aware lightworkers as late as 1995 was only about 144,000, or less than 30 out of every million people. That number is growing rapidly now, but among those seeking the light, how many have gotten rid of the emotional garbage, the fears, and have the WILLINGNESS to transcend the barriers? How many of them are not still overcome by the pressures of human existence, and are willing to take the TIME to seek that Oneness? And of those, how many can I expect to meet?

The truth is that each is TRULY rare, and PRICELESS to me. I have consciously made the choice, the decision, that there is NOTHING I seek but to do the will of God. I have no true desire BUT to KNOW that will, to KNOW the fullness of the One Self that IS God, and is inside all of us. And none of us can do that alone, as an ego cannot break out of its barriers without the God-help of others. Virtually all of the mystics, the enlightened ones, have said that enlightenment comes from KNOWING yourself, and that requires three elements, intellectual study, meditation, and practice. Pure study or pure meditation, or both, will NOT lead to enlightenment without putting the knowledge and inner feeelings into PRACTICE, and that means EXTENDING the love to others.

And yes, I do have a full and happy life extending that love to ALL I meet (or at least TRYING to), reading and meditating. But there is something SPECIAL, a deep connectedness, an OVERFLOW of love when another opens fully and ACCEPTS God's love WITHIN THEMSELVES. It is such a THRILL for me, so JOYOUS, to see another REALIZE that they are loved, not by ME, but by God flowing THROUGH me. And as they see it, I see it too, and KNOW that I AM loved, just as I LOVE.

And LOVE, IS!!!
