For the last year or so I have expressed only one desire in my prayer/meditation - TO KNOW THE FULLNESS OF OUR ONE SELF, AND TO COMMUNICATE FULLY AND LOVINGLY WITH ALL OTHER PARTS OF THAT SELF. Knowing that we can only perceive a small portion of the energy that we call God, I try not to limit what I think that means, for I know nothing. I trust that I AM knows everything, being everything, and that I will know what I need to know when I need to know it.

This weekend I had one of the most awesomely beautiful, wonderful experiences of my life. In helping a woman see her full strength and power in breaking out of an abusive, co-dependent relationship, I offered only Divine Love, consciously keeping my ego self and its desires out of the way, and allowing that higher Self to work through me.

The result was the sharing of a Love so powerful, so pure, so sure, that we both knew the presence of God within us, knew what beautiful, Loving beings we really are.

This morning my meditation brought the realization that our physical goals are actually limitations, keeping us locked in the consciousness of the body.

Who would continue a race after he crossed the finish line? That would be foolish. But, when we determine where the finish line is, we never learn what wonders lie beyond it.

When we decide what it is we want in life, we establish a limit on what we will achieve, for we will not go beyond it. If, for example, we desire a complete, intimate, loving physical relationship with a member of the opposite sex, we become satisfied and complacent when we achieve it. Though it may deepen (or weaken) over time, and we may seek others of the same type, WE WILL NEVER GO BEYOND THEM.

Because I had no goal other than Love, I found myself experiencing a Love within me far, far beyond the limitations I had before, and I knew my Self as so much more than a body, a Being of Love.
