In late June, 1995 the IS book was almost finished. I knew it would cost $8,000 to $9,000 to print 10,000 copies. As I only had $4,000 in the bank, I procrastinated, and "put off" taking it to the printer.

The July 4th weekend , with four days of leisure, gave me a lot of time to meditate. One thing I wanted was more "proof" of my spiritual growth, more "feedback" from the material world.

That Friday I had received a coupon book from the Treasure Island hotel/casino. One coupon was for a free dinner for two at the buffet, with others for "buy one - get one free" dinners, free drinks, and one exhorting me to join their "slot club".

That Tuesday (July 4, 1995) I took Virginia to our Course In Miracles group, and later to the Treasure Island for the free buffet. The coupon said "present this at the buffet", so we were making a bee-line there when I spotted the Treasure Island Slot Club booth. My intuition told me to stop, so, even though I had no desire to join the "club", I stopped.

Imagine my surprise when the attendant informed me that the buffet coupon was no good unless I joined the slot club. As the club was free (they actually gave free points worth $10), I filled out the form to join. The attendant entered it into the computer, and printed my membership card (like a credit card with gold lettering). When he picked it up and read it, he frowned and said "Something is wrong!!! It only printed two letters of your first name."

"I and S" I said, KNOWING that it had printed IS. He said "How did you know?"

"It just gave me a message", I said, "PRINT IS, and stop procrastinating". I then told him the story of IS, and promised to give him the home-made version I had in the car. He seemed very skeptical, swearing that "something was wrong with the computer". I told him to hit the "print" button again. He did, picked up the card and read "Dennis Krum", just as he had entered it.

On Wednesday, July 5, 1995 I put the finishing touches on the IS book.
