After hearing of a dear friend's dealings with pesky little critters lately, their tiny size led me to realize at another level the awesome magnitude of Divine Intelligence. This is a wonderful exercise in stretching our limited mind to accept on faith all that we cannot yet grasp.

Picture in mind our complex bodies, and imagine the intricacy of just one vital organ, the heart. Designed to last a lifetime, self-rejuvenating, self-repairing, forever fulfilling its purpose without any thought on our part, this marvelous organ is at the core of our physical being.

At a deeper level, this marvelous organ is composed of millions of individual cells of different types, some to contract and pump, some to channel and carry blood, others to oxygenate. Each cell knows its purpose and function and where it fits in the overall design.

At still a deeper level each cell is composed of individual molecules, each in perfect composition and position. Yet deeper is the atomic level, and within each atom electrons and neutrons whizzing at amazing speeds through space. Each of these made up of even smaller sub-atomic particles, the quarks and neutrinos and nouons and gluons that (scientists currently think) are the most basic building blocks of matter and/or energy. Each one is in its perfect place to fulfill its perfect function, guided by some intelligence we cannot comprehend. Yet this intelligence is operating flawlessly in OUR bodies, no matter how unaware we remain.

Imagine a flea, or a gnat. Within these creatures that are so small we can barely see them are other complex organs, similar to ours. And each of these infinitesimal organs in each of these tiny creatures is composed of cells composed of molecules made up of atoms containing electrons etc. And EACH of these tiny subatomic particles is in ITS perfect place and guided by that same Divine Intelligence.

We think we know stuff, that we are smart, and conscious, and aware. Yet we can barely comprehend the infinite consciousness that creates, maintains and controls the perfect placement of each and every particle in existence. WE decide that WE control our lives, and we want what we want when we want it.

At the other extreme, a few months ago astronomers discovered a humongous explosion billions of light-years away. They said if we were to release every form of energy man has found (including all nuclear weapons ever built) at one time, it would equal less than 1/100,000 of the energy the sun emits in one SECOND, and this explosion released a TRILLION times the amount of energy the sun puts out in 6 BILLION years. A few weeks later another article told of a gigantic black hole, swallowing BILLIONS of stars equal to or greater than our sun.

I laughed when I read those articles. It was as if God was giving us a little demonstration of POWER. As if to say "You arrogant humans think you know stuff? Hah!! Look at THIS!!!"

That SAME power, that SAME Divine Intelligence exploding and swallowing stars, is the SAME intelligence guiding the placement of each and every sub-atomic particle in each and every creature or particle of matter (or energy) in all creation.

And we think WE know stuff??? Hah!!!
