ART I love art. I grew up with all kinds of art. My girlfriends at school were all artists. Actually,
even some of their parents were artists. We used to ditch high school in Evanston and ride the L down to the Art Institute
of Chicago, where I later attended classes. And nowadays a highlight of traveling with my wife Kimberly is often a visit to
a gallery or art festival.
But the thing about art; there's expensive fancy collector art, where maybe I'll be someday, and there's art for everyone,
which is what I'm promoting right now. And if I get into that first category some day, then the folks that supported me now
will have something even more valuable than they thought when originally purchased. But I wouldn't buy art just as an investment.
You've gotta feel something.
Everyone should have art on their walls. But not store bought meaningless goes with the decor the interior decorator
picked out art. Art needs to emotionally move you - tell you a story, invigorate or calm your mood, make you ponder, or rejoice
at the beauty embodied in the piece. The art on my walls was created by friends, or people I've met and talked to, or folks
that have inspired me. I have a personal connection to the artist as well as the art, and also a memory of when and where
I acquired the piece.
I also want you to have an emotional connection to my photos, if you choose my art. That is why I am offering my work
here one at a time, to people I meet, talk to, shake hands with, and end up relating with in some form or fashion. So call
me, email me, or look me up in person. Tell me what you can afford and what size you would like, and we'll figure it out together.
Something that moves you - not too big, not too small, but just right for you.
WEBSITE PHOTOS The photos on this site are representative of a large body of work accumulated
over 40 years time. I've noticed lately with the proliferation of web based photo posting sites, that very few people seem
to be able to, or care to, edit their offerings to what they consider their best. Here I've chosen to limit myself, to avoid
that pitfall.
Each of the galleries listed on the side will contain 12 photos maximum. When I've got some new work that I consider
worthy of the website I will add those into the top rows and eliminate from the bottom. And instead of some fancy slide show
or gallery where you have to go from one to the next image, you can choose any individual photo to enlarge and view. Therefore
hopefully you won't feel like you're having to "wade through" my work. And there's no damn music either. You
get to choose your own. Or none. Just a very simple website, which is my preference.
PRINTS For sizes, prices, and availability please give me a call or email at the contacts
listed below. Since I have strong environmental views, I have closed my wet darkroom. I am trying to produce and frame fine
art photos with the least waste possible, and use recycled items where applicable. I am printing with an Epson printer that
uses Ultrachrome K3 inks, considered very archival depending, of course, on the choice of paper. Currently I am using two
different papers for prints:
My best prints are usually on Hahnemühle
Bamboo Fine Art Paper. Certified archival grade and acid free, this paper is 90%bamboo and 10% cotton, with a very warm, white,
slightly textured surface.
For budget prints and certain images, GREENPIX* from Red River Paper is a wonderful recycled paper
that is smoother and slightly cooler than the Bamboo, and suits some subjects better. From
the Red River website: GreenPix Facts - 100% post consumer recycled fiber
- Photo

- Coated with top quality inkjet
coating
- Archival Quality Base Stock - Alkaline
pH and Buffered for Longevity
- Process Chlorine

NOTE- due to the theft of photos on the internet, I am putting a copyright logo on the photos displayed
on the website. My actual prints do not have this stamp, but are hand signed, titled, and dated.
