Disclaimer: I work for a fine hospital, one of the finest, and am pleased that I do. That hospital has an inpatient psychiatry unit. On that unit, they do excellent work, and I do not hesitate to recommend their work or the work of any other unit of my employer facility. However, none of what I have to say on this page or any other page published by me should be construed as my speaking for my employer. I do not speak for my employer here. As a matter of fact, I am very proud that the hospital for which I work doesn't even do ECT to people.

My thoughts on Electroshock

The only two professions which use the term "humane" to describe their practices are psychiatry and animal-slaughtering.

I will leave it up to you, the reader, to decide whether or not that is a coincidence.

Please understand that I've never met a psychiatrist who was a mean-spirited, evil, twisted person. For the most part, I've liked the ones I've met, and I believe they're doing what they're doing because they think it's right. I think they've been misled. Misled by the people who are selling ECT machines.

They don't realize that the "physicians" who push ECT the hardest have a direct financial interest in the sales of ECT machines, and that most of the statistics pushed to promote ECT have been made up out of thin air.

Perhaps there are those who will follow some of the links below and become educated to this horrible abuse of human beings. Maybe, if we're all fortunate, some of our lawmakers will read what is presented on those pages and realize some of their constituents need their protection. Let's hope.
