Algebra II Assignments
Chapter 1
How to Study Each Lesson in Algebra II
You will find that the Algebra II class proceeds at a more rapid pace
than the Algebra I class. Therefore it is even more important that you use
your Algebra time wisely. To make the most of your study and homework time,
follow these steps each day.
1. Go through the CD lesson(s) for that day. Make sure you understand
how to do each problem type. Take the quiz and submit the quiz score via
email.
2. Read through the book's explanation and examples of that day's
lesson.
3. HERE'S the KEY: Try out one or two odd problems in the first
section of the assignment pages. Check your answer in the back. If you get
it correct and feel you understand it, then proceed to the actual assignment
problems for that section and work them. BUT: If you do not get it
correct, then continue to try more problems and self-check and/or ask for
help and/or go back and study a matching CD lesson.
4. Then proceed to try out one or two odd problems from the next
section of the assignment pages. Check your answer in the back. If you
get it correct and feel you understand it, then proceed to the actual assignment
problems for that section and work them. Again, if you do not get it correct,
go back and study it more.
5. Work the rest of the problems in the assignment. Make sure you
answer the question in the format necessary (odd problem answers in the back
will guide you). Doublecheck the problems that are worth more than one point
and make sure you have answered all the parts to the question.
6. Submit your assignment as soon as you complete it and in the correct
way. This includes making sure you have correctly labeled your email
AND faxes. (Faxes must have name, page number, and problem number on EVERY
page.) Emails should have all answers except graphs (including non-graph
information on graphing problems)
7. Do not get behind. Schedule 2-3 hours a day (including class time
AND homework time) for Algebra each day and use them. Assignments snowball
very quickly if you miss a day.
8. If you have trouble with an assignment, GET HELP. That's what
I'm here for. Let me know you need help THAT DAY. Utilize class times I
schedule and office hours I offer.
