The Wizard of Odd's Pet Shop and Grooming, is located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills, with convenient access from the main artery highway 158 via two turn-ins and a traffic light egress. Parking is ample.
History: the current owner established this location in the strip about four years ago.  A pet store was located in this mall for several years prior.  The previous store was apparently profitable, but personal problems of the then owner, (which I knew personally) forced its demise.
Located on the end of the Strip the duel bay store has good visibility from the Highway.
The current store is 2600 sq. ft., which includes a profitable dog grooming business and adds to its all season presence.  It is in a community shopping center, with Two anchors, and a twenty other stores.
The store grosses over  $ 260,000.00 on paper, ( $55,000 is  Dog Grooming) which should enable the owner a sizable after expense net profit, depending on the new owners willingness to work.
The rent, taxes including insurance, and common area maintenance are around $36,000.00 per year. Utilities will vary greatly with the new owners preferences and willingness to labor.
Current  approximated overhead figures:
Electric, includes heat and air averages about $500.00 per mo. or $6000.00 per year
Employee wages average $500.00 per week.
The Store is a full service shop that meets the needs of the local population (over 30,000), as well as the yearly influx of Visitors to the Barrier Islands, but it is not, tourist dependant.
The Store is not currently owner operated which translates into even greater profit if the new owners were also the operators.
The current owner owns two Subways, (one in the same mall) and they consume his interest, which is why this leads to a great buy.
Chad wants to devote his attentions to the Subway's and is willing to sell the Pet Store for just over what he has personally invested in it.  The current inventory is approximately  $60,000 and the fixtures including the sign are about $30,000.00    (The name “Wizard of Odds” but not the corporation, conveys).
The store records will meet the standards necessary to apply for an SBA loan, which will also require the borrower, to have enough capital to operate the current business for six months.
