yes, this has become a monthly update.
so, after a couple of really sucky months there again, things have started to level out. at this point, i'm taking "level" over "downward spiral, soooo..." :-D nah, i'm just bein' bitter. things are actually very good. nothing exciting to report, other than having a simply fabulous weekend, full-on christmas joy. thursday night (the beginning of the weekend here in NYC, of course), i hung out for a few with my friend nate at my bar (where else?) and got a really really cool holiday present from him, which totally got me in this wonderful holiday spirit mood and all warm and fuzzy. friday i took a half day to do my shopping, and spent the afternoon feeling like the Idle Rich, cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching; topping it off with laziness and loungey-ness and a night of carousing with the girls.
saturday i spent in full european style-- drinking coffee and eating croissants at Le Pere Pinard; amusement was provided by a group of israeli guys i had just met... i was there for four hours. rachel picked me up for more christmas shopping at union square, and we dined heartily at osso buco afterwards, topping off our pasta with some really good coffee from our friend Guy's coffee shop in soho. i lounged at home with my new book from rachel -- "all about me," hahaha -- and took it down to the bar to share with the girls for several hours over many drinks and much laughter.
sunday topped it all off with a lazy, lazy early afternoon on my computer talking to nate, and then brunching with rachel. dinner was with eva of makeup mania over at cafe charbon, followed by delivering gifts to libby (the cutest girl on earth) and irish coffee with jeremy and rachel (the cutest couple on earth). i had the best dreams last night, and shut off my alarm this morning instead of getting up and going to work, because i thought it was sunday again. and my boss was totally cool about it and let us go home early.
tomorrow i'm off to binghamton, home of... my parents and a good, good time. i get to be their designated driver again this year for their parties, and i know how that sounds, but it's a riiiiiiot. especially seeing my toasty dad getting to ride in the back of his minivan, because he never does. absolutely hilarious. i can't wait till christmas. happy happy happy holidays to all of you!
by the way, i'm listening to "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and am gettin' all teary... ~sigh~ :-)
