Herbs and correspondences

For teas: Usually 1 teaspoon of herb per cup of heated distilled water or mineral water.

NOTE: The following remedies are not meant to replace correct medical care.

Alfalfa: [North/Venus] Two teaspoons contain twice as much calcium as a glass of milk. As much protein as one hamburger. Almost the same amount of iron as 2 ounces of liver and sufficient fiber to lower cholesterol. This herb is used for arthritis. It is also a mild diuretic and appetite increaser. Used fresh leaves and in teas.

Angelica:[Southeast/Venus/Sun] It relieves heartburn and hay fever, stimulates appetite, and, as a warming herb it promotes menses and perspiration. Use modest amounts(1/2-1 cup infusion). NOTE: Avoid during pregnancy, or if you have high blood pressure or diabetes. The roots, seeds or leaves are used.

Anise:[Southeast/Jupiter/Air] Anise is used as an aromatic for bronchitis and whooping cough. It soothes the stomach, increases lactation, and helps movement in the astral realms. Anise oil is used to get rid of lice and scabies. The seeds are used.

Basil:[Southeast/Mars] Is a funeral herb used to aid the soul's journey. Basil helps bring on menses and helps calm the stomach. It is associated with dragon energy and attracts prosperity and fertility. Best used fresh 1-2 cups per day.

Bayberry:[Southwest] This herb is used as a gargle for sore throats. It is also a circulatory tonic and is used to curtail menses, diarrhea, and colds. Make a tea, usually two tablespoons per cup, and use as a gargle three times a day. Use small amounts, 1 tablespoon per day. The bark and root are used.

Black Cohash:[East] An estrogen herb that clears pelvic congestion, brings on delayed menses. Use in SMALL doses: 10-30 drops tincture or 1 tablespoon of cold decoction. NOTE: avoid during pregnancy and lactation. The root is used.

Blessed Thistle:[Northwest/Mars] This herb is a member of the daisy family and in ancient times was associated with Pan, the protector and celebrator of life. It is high in calcium and iron content. It is an excellent herb for nursing mothers because it stimulates the mammary glands so they produce more milk. Drink 1 cup of blessed thistle tea about 30 minutes before nursing.

Catnip:[Southwest/Venus} This herb lowers fevers, dries up post nasal drip, gets rid of headaches, and relieves sore and achy bones due to colds and flu. Drink 1-2 cups of catnip tea per day.(the dirty socks smell is normal)

Chervil: Used for eye inflammations. Steep chopped leaves, (parsley leaves can also to added to this), in boiling water, cool to body temperature and apply with an eye cup. It soothes the burning and acts as a disinfectant.

Cinquefoil:[Southwest/Jupiter] Considered to be an ally for movement through astral realms. It is a household protector, and an aid to prophetic dreams. It is an astringent used for sore throats and gums, skin disturbances, and diarrhea. Drink 1 cup of the infusion per day.

Comfrey:[West/Saturn] Encourages regeneration and reconnection. It is good for peptic ulcers, dry coughs, and is often used as a douche or sitzbath. AVOID comfrey if you have liver disease, deep wounds or dysplasia. The root and leaves are used.

Cornsilk:[Southwest/Venus/Earth] Cornsilk neutralizes excess alkalinity in urine and comforts the kidneys and bladder. Use fresh silk that comes from the plant while it is still green.Use 1 cup per day.

Fennel (sweet):[Southeast/Mercury] Fennel seeds, when chewed, act as a breath deodorizer. Some people make a tea using 2 parts fennel seed and 4 parts barley for treating obesity. The seeds are used.

Licorice:[Northwest/Venus/Water] Licorice has an estrogenic and steroidal energy. It is used to remedy infertility, irregular menses, and as an aid during menopause. Decoction: 1 tablespoons doses several times a day. AVOID during pregnancy, edema, or steroidal use. The root is used.

Marshmallow:[West} Marshmallow relieves congestion and inflammation. It is a gentle wash for abscesses. It lubricates and also promotes lactation. Use 1 cup infusion three times per day. The root, leaves, and flowers are used.

Mugwort:[Southwest/Venus/Moon] Used for astral travel and scrying. It supports the bladder, liver, digestion, and appetite. God for use in massage oils and baths. Can be smoked, but is most often taken in infusions. 1 tablespoon 3 times a day. AVOID excessive amounts and don't use during pregnancy. The leaves and root are used.

Myrrh:[Southwest/Moon/Water] This herb is good for reducing gum inflammation. It is sold in capsule form. Break open one capsule and pour the contents on a wet toothbrush and brush normally. Do this twice a day. This herb may also be used for hemorrhoids and sore throat. AVOID during pregnancy, liver disease, immune diseases, and/or cancer. The resin is used.

Nettle:[Southeast/Mars] Nettle is a mineral rich spring blood tonic. It supports the adrenals, digestion, and circulation. can also be used as a tonic for the hair and skin. As an infusion, use 1-2 times per day. The leaves are used.

Raspberry:[Northeast/Venus/water] A uterine and lymph tonic. It is a bath astringent and sore throat gargle. The leaves are mildly laxative. Drink 2 cups of infusion per day. The leaves and fruit are used.

Red Clover:[Northeast/Mercury/Air] Used as a tonic for blood and lymph. Clover soothes nerves. Use fresh dried flowers in an infusion 3 times per day. The flowers are used.

Rosemary:[Southeast/Sun/Fire]It is used for headaches, depression, and weak nerves. It promotes appetite, stimulates the liver, digestion, and circulation. It also preserves the color and curl of dark hair and benefits the scalp. Use 1 tablespoon doses 3 times a day. The leaves and twigs are used.

Sage:[Southeast/Jupiter/Air]Safe expresses wisdom and consideration. It is an ally of menopause, a bath herb for sore muscles, and a gargle for sore throats. It reduces perspiration, lactation, and night sweats. Tincture is preferred. Take 20-30 drops 3 times per day. 1 cup of infusion in mouthful doses throughout the day. AVOID during pregnancy. DO NOT use in excess or over an extended period of time(not more than a week)The leaves are used.

Violet:[Northwest/Venus/Water]The leaves are used in the treatment of cysts. It is rich in vitamin C and is a good children's laxative and also helps to relieve dizziness, coughs, and colds. Drink 1 cup of infusion per day. The leaves and flowers are used.
