1.
Using the Loss and Grief
material, what signs and symptoms of normal grief---whether due to a death or to another profound loss--- have you noticed
in a personal situation, or observed in friends or in movie characters? How do your observations fit with the list of
gender-patterned grief responses for adults in American
culture, or the list of signs and symptoms experienced by children? If there are any specific questions you have
in regards to processing a personal grief, and if you'd like to, you can ask those here, and I'll be happy to provide a little
feedback.
2.
Referring to the Complicated Mourning material, what 3 aspects of the Naturopathic Approach to Dealing with Pathological Grief will be most difficult for you, and why
do you think so?
Given that grief rituals can be as elaborate as a church or funeral home service with invited guests, or a simple as releasing a helium
filled balloon in a park while reading a poem, what are 2 grief rituals you can imagine suggesting to your clients
to help them say goodbye in the event of a deep loss?
3. Considering the section
in the Loss and Grief material on How to Help Others Grieve, what 3 aspects of the Witness, Contain, and Evoke process feel
most natural or easiest for you and why, and which aspects need further clarification before you could use them? You
are aware of your own discomfort with grief----is there anything in the Witness, Contain and Evoke process that might
help you to deal with that for yourself? If not, what do you think you need?
