To begin to understand the meaning of a pain
or other physical symptom, imagine having a dialogue
with the affected body part, or with the sensation
that is screaming for your attention.
 
(1) Ask what it is needing from  you and what
purpose it is trying to serve for you.
 
(2) Listen patiently for an answer to present itself
to your mind.
 
(3) Take whatever first occurs to you, even if it
seems not to  make sense at the moment.
 
(4) Write down the answer for further processing.
 
(5) Thank the body part or sensation for communicating
with you at this time.
