July 3-7, 1997 - Minaret Backpack

The first day at the Minarets we were at Agnew Meadows.  When the HAT team got out of the vehicles we were suddenly attacked by mosquitoes.  We slept there that night.  We woke up on Independence Day, broke camp, and left to the trailhead.  We hiked to Shadow Lake and had lunch.  Then we hiked passed a waterfall and over large boulders and camped at Lake Ediza.  The next day we hiked to Iceberg Lake.  Kyle caught two Brook Trout at Iceberg Lake.  The next day we had a layover day and we learned to glissade with an ice ax down a glacier.  The next day we backtracked and hiked all the way to the vehicles and went home.
