---Franklin
No. 7, c. 1900---
.
The Franklin Typewriter was a make popular around the turn of the century.
Its type-bars stood erect at the front of the machine and swung down to
the platen. This downstrike machine was characterized by its radical semi-circular
keyboard. Lots and lots of Franklins were sold, apparently, since many survive
today.
Machine from Dickerson collection.
