Coach Pike Comments:
Some of today's performances were simply amazing. JB's 21.6 200m
- WOW! He runs so relaxed, it seems effortless but that's the
paradox of speed-
"You have to relax to go fast.
' Wilfredo Villarroel broke 2:00 for the third time this year
with a 1:58.2 in the 800, and helped us run a 1600 relay faster
than the state qualifier. the first time we've beaten Sexton in
that race in a decade.
Because of some muscle strains we've had to adjust our relay lineups
almost continuously this past week. It shows in some of our exchanges,
particularly in the 4x200. Couple that with our aggressive philosophy
of passing the baton to a runner moving at his fastest possible
speed(at/near the very end of the zone) and breaks and bobbles
are to be expected. As we approach the regional, we move into
a recovery and peaking phase, and we'll have more time to focus
on developing more fluid exchanges.
