Coach Pike Comments:

The Hastings Relays is Michigan's oldest continually running relay event and to break one meet record, let alone three is truly a great accomplishment. Our sprint relay team of Justin Boyd, Michael Bailey, Terry Tyson, Abram McCoy brought home 3 gold medals winning the 400m, 800m and sprint medley relays, breaking the 400m and 800m relay records in the process. In the long jump, McCoy and Bailey combined to break the record and bring home a gold in the long jump relay. Terry Tyson and Justin Boyd also earnsed silver medals as part of the Coed Saxon relay. Our non scoring relays also performed at a level well above last year's performances. The shuttle hurdle relay of Willie Mustafa, Josh Thomas, Rex Wilkes, and Freddie Galloway improved by nearly 5 seconds. Brian Byrnes and Chris Pike improved the discus improved their distances by 3 feet in the shot and 40 feet in the discus. Our 4x800 and 4x400 relays also posted our best times of the season with Josh Carr and freshmen Ryan Cotton and Adam Graddick performing especially well in their 400 and 800 legs.
