Coach Pike Comments:

Our distance kids did an incredible job today. Nearly every athlete seemed to set a PR. Distance runners like Jimmy Schneideind are running more aggressively and with much more confidence. Justin Sheehan controlled the 800 and Jimmy, Brian Cook, Ben Ray, and Zach King cleaned up hte rest of the distance events. Our sprinters continue to do an amazing job. Because "backup" sprinters like Terry Tyson stepped up to have great days, we hardly missed the injured Dante Adams and Abram McCoy. Terry helped both sprint relays to run times among the fastest in my twenty years of coaching. As freshman Mike Adams said after the meet, "It doesn't seem to matter who we have in there, we just keep running fast." Check out the Top Ten lists and you'll see what he means. Our field events also continue to improve. Courtney Scott's shotput effort now ranmks second on the top ten. Dre Benson jumped 6-0 in the high jump nearly clearing 6-2. Mike Bailey and Clevon Robertson continue their dominance of the 400 with another 1-2 finish. If we can get all of our athletes up to 100% for next week's regional great things could happen!
