Coach Pike Comments:

We had hoped for great things from this meet and in many ways we were not disappointed. Mike Bailey and Clevon Robertson had great meets highlighted by their 1-2 finish in the 400. Our sprint relays finished second to Grand Ledge in both the 400 and 800 relays, forcing Grand Ledge to break the meet record in both events to beat us to the finish. In fact, our 400 relay team tied the old meet record, while the 800 relay ran as fast as the 1995 team that placed in the stae finals! I was extremely pleased with the breakthrough races of Brandon Williams, David Uslan, and Chris Peebles. David and Chris both made our Top Ten list in the High Hurdles and BrandonWilliams made the finals in the Long Jump and finshed 6th in the 100m dash. Terry Tyson continued his streak of PR's in the 200's making the semis but he had to pull up due to a muscle strain. A number of our athletes are at less than 100%, making geeting healthy a prime goal for next week. In the distance events, our 4x800 relay posted their best time of the season as Justin Sheehan ran a strong 2:08 anchor leg.
