2009 MITCA True Team Championships

Each year MITCA, the Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association, invites the top ten teams from the regional champions and runners-up to compete in a state championship meet. Unlike the MHSAA Finals, where a single athlete can account for the team’s entire score, MITCA uses a scoring system that measures the strength of each athlete across all of the events. Each athlete contributes to the team’s score. This year, thirteen regional champion and runner-up teams accepted the invitation to compete. This year’s seventh place finish marks the 3^rd time in the last six seasons that the Waverly men’s track team has been invited to this prestigious event and finished in the top ten in the state.
