Arthur Harold Gold was born on September 3, 1888 in McEwensville, PA. He was baptized at the Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, McEwensville on June 8, 1890. He married Catherine Myrtle Marshall on March 27, 1909 in Watsontown by Rv. H.D. Shiner. Each were 20 yrs old at the time of the marriage. He listed his occupation as farmer (although there is no indication that he was ever a farmer) and she is listed as a domestic.(MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE OF NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, no. 17341) She was born on August 3, 1888 the daughter of George and Mary Marshall, Delaware Township, Northumberland County.

Arthur Harold did not continue the family occupation as a miller. After his father was killed in the auto accident in 1926, Arthur Harold tried to operate the mill south of McEwensville but was not successful. It was sold by his mother, Clara, on Aug 16, 1926 for $ 6,5000 to Frederick W. Wolf of Milton. Arthur Harold Gold remained a factory laborer all his life. He was an avid baseball player and fan as the enclosed newspaper clipping from 1910 shows.
