Oliver George Gold was born in 1868 in McEwensville. He married Clara Rhodes (d. Jan 3, 1955) They had two children, of whom Arthur Harold was the oldest. Oliver was a miller who continued to operate the family mill on the creek north of the town of McEwensville.

On Feb 7, 1900 he was sold one half interest in the mill (described in the forgoing sketch of George Thomas) by the heirs of David Gold for $900.00. On October 26, 1910 he purchased the other ½ interest from his father,
George Thomas Gold for $1000.00. (DEEDS OF NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Bk 135, page 371 and Book 158, page 53)

On April 4, 1922 Oliver George Gold sold the mill “known as the David Gold Mill property . . .including a frame flouring mill, a frame dwelling house, and other buildings; together with the mill pond, mill dam and all water rights . . .containing six acres and 43 perches . . .that the heirs of David Gold granted one half interest to Oliver G Gold on Feb 7, 1900 and George T. Gold [sold the other] undivided half to Oliver Gold on Oct 26, 1910" (DEEDS OF NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, vol 188, page 170) to Roy D. Fetzer for $3660.00 who operated it for a short time and resold it to Harry.L. Schuman who had the structure torn down.The mill house is still standing.

9th Generation - Oliver George Gold son of George Thomas Gold
Later, on April 1, 1922 Oliver George purchased the William L Braun Mill south of McEwensville along the PA Railroad on the road to Milton in Turbut Township from William A Fisher for $7,000 (DEEDS OF NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, vol 201, page 41) and operated it until his death in 1926. The mill stood for years near the Pennsylvania Railroad underpass on the road from Milton to McEwensville. It also included a two story brick house.
