David Gold was born 29 January, 1806, the sixth and youngest of the children of George and Rosina(Ernst) Gold. He was baptized in his parents, home, Plainfield Township, on 9 March 1806 by Rev Paul Weiss, pastor of the Schoeneck Moravian Church, with Jacob and Anna Babrara(Ranke) Schnall as sponsors
About 1825 or 1826 David Gold married Anna Maria Rissmiller, daughter of Daniel Rissmiller and Elisabeth(Minner) Rissmiller. Daniel Rismiller, who came from Berks county, was a forgeman residing in Bushkill Township on 10 acres of land, partly in Plainfield and partly in Bushkill Township. On 2 April 1841, Daniel Rissmiller, yeoman of Plainfield Township sold the combined tract of more than ten acres to Thomas Willauer, constable, of Forks Township. Supposedly, Daniel’s father was a Hessian mercenary who had fought in the Revolution but remained in America after the war
As noted previously David Gold bought the Rose Inn from his father, Feb 19, 1831. Nine years later on 6 April 1840 the very day that their seventh child, Maria, was baptized, David and Maria sold the Rose Tavern to Gideon Haupt At the time of the sale the residence of David Gold was recorded as Plainfield Township
