David B. Lewis Evelyn I. Neuber 17 Manor St Hamden, CT 06517-2319 203-248-DLEN (3536) Evelyn's Lab: 203-737-1107 We're in a town just north of New Haven. The nearest landmarks that show up on maps are the local lakes and reservoirs that make up Lake Whitney and the John DiNicola playground. Manor is a north-south street that runs between Mather and Treadwell, both of which are generally east-west streets that run between Whitney and Dixwell. In addition, there is a short-cut from Whitney to Mather -- Servoss Street. Highway access is generally easier from the north, via 15. By car: A) from Boston or Vermont, take 91S to Route 15 -- not the first time you see this road, when it is the Berlin Turnpike, but in Meriden at exit 17, where 691 comes in and when 15 is the Wilbur Cross Parkway and eventually the Merritt. Go until exit 60, "Route 10 / Dixwell Avenue". Exit to the south, which should be a right turn regardless of where you came from. Go 0.5 miles south. Mather is a left, at a light. It's not the first left -- there are some minor roads -- nor the first light, but it is the first left at a light. There is a Post Office to the right, but Mather is otherwise not marked well. Go 0.5 miles on Mather. Manor is the third road on the right. 17 Manor is the second house on the right. B) from New York City, take 15 (Merritt) all the way, or take 95N to Milford, at exit 38, and then take the Extension north to 15N. Proceed as in (A). C) from upper New York State, take 84E to the Danbury exit 11, and then take Route 34, which intersects with 15 a few miles from New Haven; take 15N to exit 60, and proceed as in (A). D) from New Haven, Whitney north past Putnam. There's a funky intersection with Treadwell and Mather. Take the shallow left onto Mather, so the Citgo station is on your immediate right. Go about 0.75 miles. Manor is on the left, immediately after Servoss road on the right. To get picked up at the airport: First decide which airport you're coming into -- Newark, one of the New York airports, Providence, or Bradley. Then call us. By semi-public transportation: If you're arriving by train, you'll wind up at Union Station, which is about 5 miles from here. Take the J bus ("Whitney Avenue") north, using line J1, J2, J3, or J4. Exit at the Children's Center at 1400 Whitney, north of Mather and south of Servoss. The O and D lines serve the area, too, but don't connect to the train station. J buses run every half-hour; the trip takes a half-hour. Last updated: Sat Apr 16 16:57:58 EDT 2005
