  1. The Antiepileptic Drug Pregnancy Registry, based at Massachusetts General Hospital. Its major objective is to obtain and information on the frequency of major malformations, such as heart defects, spina bifida and cleft lip, among infants whose mothers had taken one or more AEDs to prevent seizures or to treat any other medical condition.
  2. The Charlie Foundation was founded in order to raise awareness about the ketogenic diet as a treatment for childhood epilepsy. The Foundation's role is to facilitate investigation, educate professionals, and inform families about the current status of the ketogenic diet.
  3. Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy (CURE) s a nonprofit organization based in Chicago dedicated to finding a cure for epilepsy by raising funds for research and by increasing awareness of the prevalence and devastation of this disease

  7. Epilepsy Foundation of America is dedicated to the welfare of people with epilepsy. Its mission is simple: to work for children and adults affected by seizures through research, education, advocacy and service.

  11. The Epilepsy Therapy Development Project Many dealing with epilepsy tolerate serious side effects, including diminished cognition, as a price for seizure control. New therapies introduced over the last decade offer fewer side effects but have done little to bring effective seizure control to the significant population living with active and uncontrolled epilepsy. The Epilepsy Therapy Development Project's mission is to advance new treatments for people living with epilepsy.

  17. Parents Against Childhood Epilepsy, Inc. (PACE), located in New York, was founded by a group of parents in response to their experiences in caring for the medical, physical, social, educational, developmental and emotional needs of their children who suffer from epilepsy and severe seizure disorders. Fundraising efforts support advances in medical research of epilepsy, as well as provide information and support to many families with similar needs
