POSITION STATEMENT
I have served IEEE and IEEE-USA in numerous offices at the section,
chapter, region and national level since I began my professional career. I see IEEE as an organization of members, run
by the members to meet the technical and professional needs of the members.
If elected as the IEEE Region 5 Director-Elect
I will:
- Ensure that volunteers set the direction and objectives of the Institute;
- Evaluate Institute programs for the membership to insure they serve their needs;
- Promote the use of the Member Professional Activities Conferences to deliver professional and technical educational
needs of the section and society chapter members;
- Identify and recognize exemplary and innovative efforts of volunteers;
- Support interactions between IEEE and industries, universities, and government to enhance the profession and advance
the well being of members;
- Increase support from societies to chapters;
- Improve regional services to empower our Sections and chapters;
- Promote greater regional participation; and
- Increase support for professional and student activities.
