Haines
Haines is situated on a quiet bay beneath the Chilkat Mountains on the Chilkat Peninsula. This lies between two river valleys that are flanked on the east and west sides by mountain peaks that reach 4000 feet. We didn't see much of the town because we left the boat after lunch and went directly to the "Valley of the Eagles" to take a trip on an 18 foot inflatable raft through an eagle preserve.
