FOURTH GRADE

                                            Children in fourth grade also visit the library for one forty minute session each week.  Literature appreciation in the form of story presentations or booktalks is always a feature of a class period and various literary forms are presented and discussed.  Skills taught include but are not limited to:(1) expanded familiarity with the electronic card catalogue,(2) greater usage of both internet and electronic reference tools as sources of information, (3) increased understanding  of definitions and criteria for non-fiction, fiction and biography, (4) Emphasis placed on appropriateness of source selection.
