As if I didn't have enought projects going, here is another one. A GPS transmitter in my rocket to tell me where it is. I am using the APRS system which provides serveral advantages. There is a lot of hardware already available to suppoer this system. If you are in range of a digipeater, the location of your rocket is available to anyone with internet access through www.findu.com.

The ground station was the easiest part.

The first version of the tracking transmitter is pretty clunky, but it works.

The goal is to fit it into a 38mm body tube with an intermediate step of 54mm. That part of the project is documented here.
