: My technical writing career began at a financial bureau called Metropolitan Computer Center, a former division of Forest Lawn. While there, I wrote instruction manuals and training materials for tellers in savings and loans throughout Southern California. And I helped this bureau with proposals and other business communications.Because of my knowledge of systems and electronic circuitry, I carried out contract writing services at both commercial and aerospace companies including JPL, Citicorp, Walt Disney, Baxter Edwards, Ocean Technology, Northop Aviation, and Magnavox. I explained the electronics of aircraft, instruments, drones, nuclear submarines, and the entire theme park of Walt Disney (have certificate as Disney Imagineer).
Later, when software pushed hardware off center stage, quickly becoming the primary focus of technical writing, I began documenting software systems for companies that included ARCO, Bell & Howell, Western Digital, Volt Information Sciences, and Allergan International.
This writing included many aspects of data processing, information technology, and procedural writing.
