At fifteen my mind was set on learning (not!!!). At thirty I had no more perplexities (almost none anyway, but who was counting). At fifty I knew the will of Heaven. At sixty I was at ease with whatever I heard. At seventy I could follow my heart's desires without transgressing moral principles... (it's good to be fifty plus -- even better when you are married with someone who is still your best friend).

I mean we all know what Daoism, Legalism, and Confucianism are ... but what is Daofucianism? Well one day while sitting in mr g's class I was thinking, "... Hey! Confucianism has a bunch of really cool ideas that make a lot of sense. But, in my heart I knew I was a true Daoist... so if you put Confucianism and Daoism together you get none other than DAOFUCIANISM!!!" -- Sara Smiles (I borrowed your quote Sara *s* -- it made such a great lead for this poem) -------------------------------- The Daofucianism Zone Can Jen and Li coexist? Yes, but Jen is funadamental. When asked about Jen, Confucius said "It is to love all..." Reciprocity is key. But, added the sage, In serving his parents a child may gently remonstrate. And, not abandon the remonstration until his or her purpose is served. But came Lao-tzu who said "You soldier best when you're not soldiering, you wage war best when your not waging war." And, later, much later Ezra Pound with a metronome said Listening to the tick tick tick "I've wasted 40 years hearing tick tick tick and instead I should have listened to the (pauses) between the tick tick tick." Yin and Yang, Teli and the Honu (Tagore) together they know this. you see and they synthesized Jen Li and nature and, in the doing taught me to breathe and just to be and once in a while just to make trouble (remonstrate, remonstrate, remonstrate!).
