Community Supported Agriculture

As we go into 2008 Dan and I are trying to eat better and live a healthier lifestyle. A big part of that for us is trying to eat organic fruits and veggies as much as possible.  We have purchased shares in a local organic farm and we are going to be getting a box of fresh fruit and veggies every other week.  Things will be more seasonal, for example no strawberries in winter, but everything will be fresh from a local grower which really makes a difference to me. I’ll keep you updated as things go, hopefully things will be great!  Check out the farm at http://www.tierramiguelfarm.org.

The greatest corporate training video EVER!!!

I came across this video done for Universal right after they were acquired by Seagram's in 1995. This was intended to promote how Universal will continue to be "artist friendly" and promote open door policies.

It's done by Matt Stone and Trey Parker pre South Park with narration by uh...Mr. Garrison maybe?

Brilliant, subversive, and a head scratcher on how it was EVER given the green light.

Count the celebrity cameos and make sure you watch it all the way through.

SNAAAAKES!!!!

Yes, the trailer is finally here for the most anticipated movie of 2006...and it involves Snakes coming out of every possible place and a bald motherf'n Sam Jackson.

Update:

Looks like Tagworld has the exclusive on this... This actually isn't the trailer for the film though, just a collection of clips to start tiding us over until August.

Here is the working link now:

Thanks to Scott.

Long time no blog (an update of sorts)

Hey all,

I know, so much for the blog concept, but we have been busy.

Where to begin.

Dan and Lee both still live in Long Beach, together. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first...just kidding.

Lot's of travelling over the holidays. We flew out to Marco Island Florida to spend Thanksgiving with Lee's mom an step dad. Marco Island is a town with canals where most houses have their own docks. Unfortunately, there's one house that doesn't have a boat, and the owners are related to Lee. We did a lot a shopping, viewed Hurricane damage both from the ground (where the palms appeared to have a permanent bad hair day) and the air (where the blue tarped roofs outnumbered any other roofs.)
Lee had to take off early to get back to work so I had an extra day there. Barb (Lee's mom) and I decided to head on down to Alligator Alley and see some gators. Flickr pictures are forthcoming.

Next up was Christmas back East. Once again I managed to bypass any snow and just get cold. Lee and I spent the holiday in Manhattan at her dads place. In our short amount of time there we managed to pull off the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut trifecta.

Connecticut: Stayed with Lee's cousin Brooke and her husband Eric at their newly purchased house in Bethel CT which is a nice sleepy town just out side of Danbury. We took one of our many train trips to go out there.

New York: Headed North to Pelham and went to a party of extended family which felt like a nine course meal...and it was all good. Trained it again.

Jersey: This was a bus trip to the South. We spent the day with her Aunt and famliy at her brand new house...which just happens to have it's own forest behind it. We got to see Lee's counsin Lori's new baby, who is a total sweetheart, as well as the rest of her family.

Pictures of course are forthcoming on flickr.

More recently we just returned from Lee's best friends wedding in Loreto Mexico. We had a great time there and met a lot of good people in the process.

MY HIGH SCHOOL CRUSH IS GETTING MARRIED!!!!

It's sad but true ladies and gentlemen my highschool crush who wasn't exactly a student, but was coach and a substitute at my highschool when I was there...Is officially unattainable. Yesterday was a sad day :( My highschool buddy emailed me an picture of his engagement announcement which was in our local paper this week. What shocked me the most is that the girl he is get married to was a girl that is a year older than me who I played softball with... shocking... so maybe I might have had a chance at him after all... Oh well that's what I get for moving to California..it turns out he liked younger girls after all :)

In all seriousness.. I love my boyfriend..who happens to be a star on Orange County Choppers.. and looks nothing like my crush :)...I so I think I did pretty good in the long run.

I was in morning yesterday, but I'm over him today...

CALIFORNIA SUMMER ...Freaking Busy

Yes we are still alive barely...

Sorry that Dan and I have checked out for the last two months... It's been busy. Let me update you on some of the happens for the past two months.

As many of you know, my friend J, is having a destination wedding in Mexico in March of next year. I have been honored with the Maid of Honor position in her wedding. Dan, I, J and her fiance along with both of their mothers went for a "site check" at the hotel (all inclusive hotel in Baja Mexico). It was HOT and when I say hot I mean I think I am going to die it is so hot, hot. Lets just say I am very happy their wedding is in March not August! We did have a chance to check out all of the fun activities, swimming, snorkeling, & Kayaking..the wedding is going to be very nice ;)

We also had a BIG garage sale...we worked two straight weekends and every night after work for almost 3 weeks cleaning out stuff and throwing out things.. overall it was very successful, we made almost $600 dollars and got rid of a bunch of Dan's mom's old furniture, house stuff and clothes... it was very liberating!

We also had a visit from my father; lovingly referred to as "Pop"; He's crazy (refers to Dan as his golden Gladiator-- I know he's nuts)(ex-parole officer) and I am ready to pull my hair out..but I do love him and it's nice to have him visit every 3 years or so! lol. (He's the one who has the gun ladies) Anyway, my father has had a very full trip, he came to visit us for a week, off to his sisters (my Aunt B) then traveled with his girlfriend to the Shakespeare festival in Oregon (Woody and Gordon should know about it!) then to Hawaii.. And finally back to LBC. He is finally heading back to NYC on Wednesday...FREE AT LAST THANK GOD ALL MIGHTY I AM FREE AT LAST!!---So Dan and I will be taking a nice parent free month or so... I can't wait.

How about a little bit of a love story to finish up this blogg update....

I don't make a habit of hooking up friends, because I honestly don't feel that it works out... Well I made an exception one time and honestly, it worked out great!! Mary and I worked together at my old company and I set her and her husband up (they got together 2 months before Dan and I)

My friends Mary and Alex tied the Marriage Knot this past Saturday in a beautiful service in Santa Monica. I honestly cried when she walked down the aisle.. it was very special to see one of my friends get married.. always gets me a little emotional.. They are off to Bora Bora for their honeymoon and I couldn't be happier...

So... Dan and I are looking forward to some free time...
