After that announcement of Amelia Bones, the Weasley family looked at Harry and then at the Director of Magical law Enforcement. Harry shrugged and looked at the ceiling. "My mind was recently cleared of tampering done by Snape," Harry said. "Who knows what he has done to all of you. He might have made Percy an obnoxious prick. The stuff in my mind was so that I wouldn't learn things that I might have wanted to do." Everyone looked at Harry with disgust and horror on their faces, save Amelia Bones. Amelia shook her head and sighed. "Mister Potter is right. I will also be checking out Neville Longbottom and a lot of other students. I will also be checking out his teaching style. I hope to have enough to not only get him removed from Hogwarts, but also chucked into Azkaban." "If that screwball theory of my mum's cousin is right, that will be enough to get him out and probably kissed," Harry stated. "That Snape has Dumbledore under the Imperius? Yes. It would," Amelia replied, shaking her head. "By the way Harry, if Snape does manage to wriggle free of this, you will have the papers to do independent study and not take Potions." "And knowing Dumbledore, he'll try to find a way to stick me and Snape together anyway," Harry muttered. "I'll try to ensure he doesn't," Amelia said. "Thank you. I'm going to take a nap. Wake me when you get back," Harry said. Arthur nodded and shooed his children to the fireplace. Molly stared at Harry a bit speculatively. Harry just shook his head and shrugged. "By the way Director Bones, will you look up my parents' will? That should be even more ammunition to keep Dumbledore from sticking me with Snape," Harry said. "If worse comes to worse, we should ask my mum's cousin to show up. I think Snape is afraid of him." Amelia shuddered and gave a sickly grin at that last comment. "Um, yes. That lunatic does have a grudge against Snape. I'm really going to work on trying to keep that option from being used. David Evans should stay in the United States." Arthur and Molly paled when David's name was mentioned. Arthur swallowed heavily and activated the Floo and shooed his children through. Molly and Amelia quickly followed. Harry went to the room he shared with Ron in the Burrow and entered his trunk. "Why is everyone so scared of David Evans?" Harry muttered to himself. "Several reasons," came Lily's voice from the painting. Looking up, Harry saw that Lily was now wearing a red cheerleader's outfit with yellow trim. "Several reasons? Such as?" "He is the only person who has single-handedly killed a Nundu. He never said how he did it though. I also read a report in the Daily Prophet where he trapped a bunch of Death Eaters in Origin Alley and then burned the entire alley down and killed the Death Eaters. His combat spells are incredibly violent and normal protection spells are worthless against most of them. And to add to the mess, he knows Jeet Kune Do along with Thai Kickboxing. He once told me that he wanted the most violent and brutal Martial Arts known, so that people would be scared of fighting him. I wonder if he found one worse than Thai Kickboxing." "Scared of fighting him?" Harry asked. "There was a saying that the Muggles have and he lives his life by that saying: Hope for peace but prepare for war," Lily replied with a shake of her head. Harry shook his head and headed to the room that held the stairs leading up. "Mum? Keep an eye on the sensors. I want to get back outside, before the Weasleys notice I'm missing." "Right. By the way Harry, there is a room on the floor with the control room you should see. It's two doors down." Curious about what his mom was talking about, Harry went to the room and saw that the room had a large yellow crystal in the center of the room that was pointed at an angle to a large white wall. The lights in the room were a bit dimmer than elsewhere in the trunk. There was a table shoved up against the wall and a small rectangular box with blinking crystals. Harry saw that the six colors of a color wheel, along with brown, gray, white, and pink were in the box. Harry saw that other than pink the crystal were set up in a three by three grid with the pink crystal at the bottom of square and a black square was at the top. Harry peered closer at the crystals and started laughing. "This is some sort of telephone. There are numbers on the crystals, save that black square," Harry said, chuckling. He spotted a paper that had an eleven-digit number written on it. Harry laughed and pushed the numbers on the crystal phone and waited. The yellow crystal behind him flared to life and started flashing. He heard a ringing sound coming from the wall. After three rings, the wall had a picture form on it. Harry recoiled in a bit of horror at the sight of the person shown. He had blood red eyes and his hair and skin were pure white. A scar led from right below his right eye down to the lower left jaw. His arms were thick with muscles and also crisscrossed with scars. "James? No, you're not James. Who are you?" the person asked. "Er? My name is Harry. Harry Potter. Who are you?" The man gave an amused snort. "My name? It's David Evans. In order to ease your fears, I am an Albino. The lack of mellen causes my skin to be white and my eyes red. I do look like a ghost or zombie, don't I?" Harry got his heart under control when he heard the man's name. "You were supposed to take care of me, instead of me being left with the Durlseys." David scowled at that. "Bumbledork strikes again. I have to ask, even though I know, is the court order saying that Severus Snape can not approach within three miles of you being enforced." "If I didn't attend Hogwarts, maybe it would have," Harry muttered. "What does attending that death trap have to do with anything?" David asked sarcastically. "Snape is the Potions teacher," Harry replied. Harry recoiled once more, when a look of hatred and rage came over David's face and started cursing far worse than anyone Harry had ever heard before did. David finally ran out of steam and shook his head and looked at Harry. "I'm sending Skull with the Potter family ring to you. When you get it, put it on. You will be emancipated and there is not a single thing Bumbles or Fagnold can do about it. Your parents entrusted it to me in case of disaster." "Fagnold?" "Minister of Magic Bagnold," David replied. "The current Minister of Magic is Cornielus Fudge." David's shoulders slumped and he shook his head in disbelief. "As soon as you get the ring, leave England. What an idiotic choice." "You really don't have much respect for the Ministry, do you?" Harry asked. "The Ministry treated the Death Eaters like ordinary criminals. Here in the States, we would have sent a magical S.W.A.T. team in or maybe pull in some of the magical military to put a stop to them. So why didn't Sirius put up more of a fight to keep you?" "He was framed by Peter Pettigrew and sent to Azkaban." "The rat? I should have known." "You know that he..." Harry begun. "Yes. I know that Sirius, Peter and your father had Animagus forms. I also know why they did it. I also have one. "You have one? What is it?" Harry asked in a bit of shock. "A Spinosaurus. Considering what my career choice is, it fits," David replied with a smile. "Career choice?" "Palentologist. I dig up dinosaur bones." "Everyone is scared of you. Why?" David grinned and his face looked a lot like a skull. "I am a fighter first and foremost. I grew up hearing things like Honky, Nigger, Wetback, Pig, Gook, and less flattering terms being shouted over the sound of automatic weapons being fired. Considering how I look, I had to defend myself from prejudiced kids. After I put the first ten in the hospital with broken bones, people started to leave me alone. Your mom was good at creating charms. Your father was good at transforming things. Sirius is not a potions master, but he isn't bad and could teach it, along with all the dark arts that the Black family has. Remus is good at dealing with magical creatures and somewhat decent at magical defense. Peter was good at Herbology and some charm work. However, when it comes to a fight, I outstrip all five of them put together." "You're joking?" Harry asked in shock. "Nope. As matter of fact...," David said and started digging around on his desk and held up a cloth wrapped object and started unwrapping it. "I still have it." "Have what?" David held up what was wrapped in the cloth and Harry felt his stomach turn as he looked at the severed human ear. "I still have Voldemort's left ear from our one and only fight. I'll send it as well," David said in amusement. "You're insane." "Maybe. I jut had a viscous life and adapted to it. I still prefer being a paleontologist though," David said and wrapped the ear back up. Harry shuddered at that and quickly changed the subject. "Do you know why Snape hates me?" "Yes. There is some psychobabble gobbledygook term for it. He loves or loved your mother and felt betrayed when she hooked up with James. I don't have proof, but I believe that he killed Grandma and Grandpa Evans along with Aunt Flora and Uncle Travis, because they competed with Snape for Lily's love." "What? That makes no sense," Harry said in shock. "Crazy people don't need to make sense. If I wasn't so dangerous and my family and parents weren't so well protected, Snape would have tried to kill us as well. I also have the feeling that he was trying to set things up that both you and your father would be killed and Lily left alive. He believes that only he should have had Lily's love. A child would take love away from Snape and direct to itself and that would not do for Snape's delusional belief." "So he blames me for my mum's death because she sacrificed her life to save mine?" "He's probably trying to figure some way to murder you and bring Lily back to life in some way and enslave her. He will never stop hating you, because as long as you are alive, it is proof that Lily loved someone other than Severus Snape." "Dumbledore says he trust Snape with his life." "I keep saying Bumbles is under mind control. However, he's also delusional. He believes that love can conquer all evil. What he doesn't understand is not all love is good and not all hate is evil. Growing up with a five-way gang war periodically breaking out has made me a bit more cynical than Dumbledore. I also have dark thoughts about the way he keeps going on about the 'Greater Good' rubish. Skull will be on his way and will deliver on the second day of Hogwarts' school year. On second thought, I'll meet you at the World Cup and take care of it personally. There will be no way that any wards will block the ring from getting to you." "I've got to go. The Weasleys will be back soon." "Be careful of what you say around Molly Weasley. She is one of Dumbledore's strongest supporters. Arthur isn't too bad, but he does not understand non-magical devices that well." "By the way, do you have any idea on how I can fight Voldemort. He's a ghost at the moment and might be coming back." "Most wizards and witches shun non-magic technology. That trunk you are in is a magical version of a TARDIS from the science-fiction show Doctor Who. It can't travel in time though. After Sirius got his motorcycle, I helped enchant it. I grew up on Devlin cartoons. Keep connected to the non-magic world and use the ideas that they provide." "Thank you. At least you're being more direct about stuff than I can get from Dumbledore." "Dumbledore is in a protect the children mode. And as I said, I grew up with a multi-sided gang war going on around my house. I tend to see things a bit darker than he does. One more thing Harry, if you look in the library, you'll find two books that I wrote." "I've read the one about horrifying combat spells. What's the other one about?" David grinned fondly at the mention of that book. "Ah. One of my finest works. I have more varied ways of killing people than the unimagintve Death Eaters have numbers. As to the other book, it is with the wand crafting books. It details on how to make an athame. I think the potions lab of the trunk has some coutal feathers and thunderbird blood." "I have the body of a six hundred year old basilisk I killed," Harry said. "Hmm. Might have worked, but if you used it in a new wand, you'll have to choose some other powerful creature. You might want to pick up a vial of salamander blood at Diagon Alley. That's mostly used in treating magical burns or creating fireproofing cloaks or potions creating fire type effects." "I did create a new wand using a basilisk fang, a feather from my owl, a splinter from my previous broom, and some copper coating." "A four-cored wand? A sea serpent scale to balance out against the salamander blood might be a good combination. You might have both of those in the trunk. I'm not sure. There are preservation spells on the contents of the potion ingredients." "I'm surprised at what you're telling me and what I've found in this trunk. I can create my own wand? This trunk being built? What else is there?" "Don't be surprised. A lot of knowledge has been dropped over the years. Anything created elsewhere in the world or before Hogwarts was founded tends to be ignored for the most part. Your mom found out about the non-magic periodic table and created a notebook with all the properties of each ingredient that she knew of. She used a three-ring binder filled with orindary school paper and written in it with a cheap ink pen. It should be there in that trunk." "No parchment or quill?" Harry asked in disbelief. "The British Wizarding society is still stuck in the middle ages. A cheap ink pen has almost everything that a quill provides and is usually non-drip. A calligraphy pen can have an ink cartridge hidden inside of it and there is no need to dip and write and will look like a quill being used and doesn't break as easily as a quill does," David said with a sad shake of his head. "Thanks for telling me." "You're welcome. By the way, you can't use this phone if the clock is being used to get more time. I'll talk to you later." "Good-bye." The wall blanked out and Harry leaned back in his chair and thought about what he learned from David Evans. As he got up to head back outside a strange thought struck him. "I wonder why he calls his owl Skull?" Harry muttered. Harry shook his head and went into the front room. He saw that his parents were waiting in the painting. "So, that was your cousin David?" Harry asked. "Interesting person." "He does look odd, doesn't he?" James said with a grimace. "There is that. However, I was talking about what he has done and what he told me. Chopping off Voldemort's left ear in a fight?" "That must have happened after we graduated from Hogwarts," Lily said in shock and then shook her head. "There is one thing that you should do, before you head outside." "Which is?" Lily pointed at a door and shook her head. "Go into that room and pull the lever. It will take care of something that we were planning for a long time." Harry shrugged and went into the room and saw that there was just a single lever in the middle of the floor. He quickly pulled it and left the room, shaking his head. "What did that do?" "Everything in all the vaults in Gringotts, all the furniture from all our homes, and all our possessions have been called to various storerooms in this trunk," Lily explained with a smile. "I don't trust the goblins all that much and I really don't trust the Ministry or Dumbledore now. It also sent the Gringott's keys back to the goblins. The Muggle bank accounts were left alone. You'll have to talk to one of the lawyers at Berder's Law Offices to get the rest of the information. Take a look on the table underneath me." Harry did so and saw two wands lying on a table. He knew that the wands weren't there before he went into the room. Harry picked one of them up and felt a bit of power from it. "Harry, that was my old wand. The other one belonged to your father," Lily said. Harry shook his head and took both wands. As he turned, a flash of silver drew his eye. "What is the Sword of Gryffindor doing here?" Harry asked, as he picked up the ornate sword. "I have no idea. There were specialized spells to call our belongings here placed on everything we owned, which we copied from the Black family due to efforts of Sirius. We had gems radiating the spell inside the vaults where we had our money stored to cover every galleon, sickle, and knut. We never placed it on that sword. Maybe when you called all the other stuff here, it might of rode along with everything. You did pull it out of the Sorting Hat. Maybe it copied the spell. Dumbledore is not gong to be happy," Lily replied. "I can live with Dumbledore being upset. I'm going to take this all down to the wand crafting room. Maybe I can use the sword as an athame, until I construct one of my own." "That's an idea. You might want to pursue that and some of the other focus based and non-focus based magics. It can only help." Harry nodded and took the two wands and swords to where he built his new wand and kept his old one. He then noticed that there were a couple of cans filled with wands now in the room. "Huh? Where did they come from?" "From the vaults and our home at Godric's Hollow." Harry looked up and saw the painting of his father in the scene painted at the top of the room. James shrugged and looked at his son. "The Ministry tracks wands due to charms placed on the wands at various wand shops. The charm only lasts six years. That wand you created has no charm on it, since you built it and don't know the charms to place. All the old families have a bunch of wands that they can give to their children to allow them to practice during the holidays," James said in explanation. "Dad? Do you have any idea why Dumbledore had your invisibility cloak?" Harry asked. "My what? Invisibility cloak? I never had an invisibility cloak. I used a spell to become invisible," James said. Harry quickly found the cloak and brought it out. "Dumbledore said this belonged to you." "I have never seen that before. I might have picked it up after I graduated. That looks like a standard issue Auror cloak. It makes sense, since I found books on my life after Hogwarts and mentioned I was an Auror. You might want to do detection charms on it." Harry did so and found several tracking charms and listening charms on the cloak. "Don't worry about the charms. Dumbledore won't get anything, since it is in a magical trunk at the moment. I think you can quickly remove the charms and then we have a new project to work with," James said. "Project?" "Of course. We might want to turn that into a Ghost Cloak. Instead of being invisible, you will be intangible while wearing it. Once you learn the spell I used for invisibility, there will be no place in Hogwarts that will be closed to you." "James, don't you dare encourage him like that," Lily called, as she entered the painting. "If it's against Snape, I'm already thinking of ways to prank him," Harry said. Lily's eyes narrowed and Harry could see she was angry. "Snape? Fine. I'm going to give you some quick directions. Just store the invisibility cloak with the other stuff." Harry followed the directions to a closet and hung the cloak up. "Harry, see that green cap that looks like it might be worn by Robin Hood? That has everything your father wanted to do with the cloak. According to my diary, I was making things found in fairy tales. A cap that allowed invisibility and intangibility was one of the items. I never did make the 'Ship of the World', but that had to be put off for this trunk. That cap can be folded up and hidden far easier than an Auror's invisibility cloak. It is also protected against summoning charms." "I thought you would be against me...," Harry trailed off. "Pulling pranks? I am. However, you need protection against Snape. I'm not sure Amelia Bones will be able to oust him from Hogwarts. The cap will allow you to get away from him and stay away from him." "Thanks. Why did you have me contact David?" "Despite what James wanted, I felt that David should be made aware of what is going on and get him involved in some way," Lily replied. "He's going to show up at the World Cup and give me the Potter Family ring," Harry said. "Why he has it, I have no idea." James had a sickly smile on his face. "Safety. He could protect it better than I could. He'll probably try to get you to leave England and go elsewhere." "He did say that I should leave," Harry replied. "I had probably better get outside." "Right. See you later," Lily said. Harry quickly left the trunk and shrank it back down and stored it in his pocket. Harry thought about al the money he now had access to and shook his head. "The only thing I really need is muggle clothing that fits and food," Harry muttered and an idle thought crossed his mind. "I wonder what ever happened to Dobby." A pop announced the arrival of the mentioned House Elf. "The great Harry Potter call for Dobby?" the elf asked. "I was just wondering what happened to you," Harry said. "How are you doing?" "Dobby is doing fine, although Dobby can not find work. No wizard or witch will pay Dobby." "Dobby, if I hired you, would you be able to keep my secrets?" "Oh, yes. Dobby would easily be able to keep secrets for the great Harry Potter." "I will want to talk to you later about that, but I want to keep it quiet from the Weasleys and Dumbledore, and I have the feeling that Molly Weasley will be back soon. We will talk after the World Cup or during it, after I meet my mum's cousin." Dobby nodded vigoursly. "Dobby will keep quiet about this and see Harry Potter later." Dobby disappered and soon the Weasleys and Hermione Granger returned from Saint Mungo's. Everyone was subdued about what had been found out and there wasn't much talking after that. All just wanted to see the World Cup and put what they had found out aside for the time being.
