President Levy was still shaking her head about the entire Technomage encounter, when there was a knock at her door. "Come in." A young man entered looking a bit nervous. "Madam President, an Ambassador Vathra is here to see you." "Mister Bergman, I would say show him in, but I know he is too big for the doors. I'll go meet him," Levy said with a smile. "Are you sure that is wise?" Mister Bergman asked. "The Dinosoids are our allies in a war that we believe to be unavoidable. Ever since we got that Space Elevator, we became targets of that force that tried to exterminate our new allies using a runaway greenhouse effect," President Levy calmly replied. "I haven't been paying attention, how is Senator Morgan Clark taking the news?" "I guess you haven't heard due to all the things going on. Senator Clark was found wearing a hot pink and gunmetal gray kilt and nothing else, while playing an out-of-tune accordion. There are rumors that he was doing something to gain psionic powers equal to Nataruma and it backfired on him." "Could Psi-Corps have done some illegal human experimentation on him?" President Levy asked. "I don't know." "Well, assign some assets to investigate Psi-Corps. We really don't need their nonsense fouling things up." "Yes, Madam President." After Mister Bergman left, President Levy met with Ambassador Vathra in the open hall of presidential office building, as it was the only room that had double doors leading to the outside. "Ambassador, what can I do for you?" President Levy asked. "There are some old ships we would like to use in an experiment and we would also like to use a planet that you are not using for the experiment," the dinosoid ambassador replied and handed Levy a clipboard with papers attached to it. "None of these ships have gone through refits. Heck, quite a few of them are scheduled to be scrapped. Why would you want them?" "Since they are of no use to you as they are, we have a use for them. You know of the Great War that happened two-hundred years ago. We are still feeling the after-effects of that war still," Vathra explained. "I do not understand," Levy said. "Our Earth will soon go through its first Ice Age due to the ecological upheavals that the Space/Time Oscillation bomb caused. I'd say another five- hundred years and our Earth will be covered with ice. We intend to cool off a nearby planet and I believe the term is terra-form it into a jungle-like planet. We intend to colonize our Venus. We would like to experiment on this Venus to keep it from being picked up by the Mu or other races in our universe. We can modify those ships as they are to become seeder ships." "If that's what you want them for, then you can have them. I've noticed that you really don't have a military force," Levy said in response. "Do not mistake what you have seen of us so far. The name of that craft that Nataruma flew when you first met her was called Orguss 02. Orguss is the name of our God of War. We will fight if there is no other option, but we haven't taken it to the art form you and the other humans have. We can help provide supplies of food and repair the terrain after war is done. We'd just get in the way of humans fighting the Mu, since we are a little too big and bulky compared to humans. We will concentrate at where we excel at to help in the upcoming war with the Mu. We also have our own warship designs and we are negotiating treaties with the whales and dolphins to help them join our group," Vathra stated. Levy blinked at that. "I just thought you were pacifist farmers who excelled in agriculture." Vathra snorted at that. "Hardly. Although, I can see where you could come to that conclusion. No, we are like you in the fact that we have had disagreements that have led to war." Before anything more could be said, a young blue-haired girl entered the room. Nataruma was grimacing a bit at the new outfit she was wearing. It was similar to her old once, save color. The pink had been replaced by red and the yellow by sky-blue. A red and yellow symbol was on her chest which was an S inside an upside-down pentagon and a red cape was hanging off her shoulders. The boots were still white. "Nataruma. I'm glad you are here," Levy stated. "I see you are wearing the outfit." Nataruma grimaced and grabbed the cape. "I take it, I'm to be an ambassador of sorts due to this." "Please explain what you mean," Levy calmly stated. "On the world I am from, capes are worn by high ranking military officials, royalty, or those assigned to talk with other countries," Nataruma explained. "Something like that, but there is more to it than that. That is the reason for the color change and the symbol on your chest. When this war begins, we need a symbol of hope or an icon. Right now, that is you," Levy explained. "The Girl of Tomorrow. You represent what we can be in the future." "I guess. I take it there is another reason you wanted me here," Nataruma said with a shrug. "Yes. We were recently spied upon by the Technomages. We can't go up and tell the Shadows or the Vorlons to leave us alone, while we prepare. We need someone who can spank them and send them to their rooms, so to speak. So, we are sending the 'Dark Horizon' out to talk to the Walkers of Sigma 957 and ask them to do it for us, while we prepare for the Mu, and that is where you come in. You are right that you are an ambassador. You are an ambassador of Earths Alliance and a picture of what we can be without the Vorlons and Shadows messing around with us. We, Earths Alliance, want you to be the one to talk to the Walkers of Sigma 957 and see if they can keep those other two races off our case, while we prepare. If they will not, ask them if they know where other First Ones are that we could ask. You are authorized to tell them everything, even use your powers to show them everything," Levy explained and handed Nataruma a sealed envelope. "Give that to Captain Sherridan. "I understand," Nataruma said, as she took the envelope. The two watched as the young girl left to hand the orders to the captain of the Dark Horizon the orders. "What is to prevent the Vorlons from finding out about the mission?" Vathra asked. "Easy. The 'Dark Horizon' will jump first into the Eeman universe and them head to Sigma 957 there and then when they reach it jump into this universe. That should grab the Walkers' attention and gives her a chance to explain the situation and hear the request." On board the 'Dark Horizon', Nataruma felt a bit nervous about the mission she was being sent on. She noticed that the Chiram had sent some officers and scientists to serve aboard the gray painted ship. She noticed that the lieutenant that Chiram had sent to oversee their men on board the 'Horizon' kept glancing at her. She decided she had enough of it. "Is there something the matter?" Nataruma asked. "You look a lot like my ancestor Athena Henderson, but you are Eeman." "Not fully. I am only part Eeman. I lived on the planet that is now being called Zaphri for most of my life. I am also part Chiram from my ancestor Kei Katsuragi," Nataruma replied. "You are Nataruma. There was a brief about you. You are my distant cousin. We are both descendants of that moron Kei Katsuragi," Jon said. "I know that Space/Time Oscillation Bomb was an imperfect weapon he set off, but why are you calling him a moron?" "We pieced together what had actually happened. During the fight at the Space Elevator, the Space/Time Oscillation Bomb was dropped from low orbit to the ground. There were thousands of nuclear explosions going off, nerve gas being unleashed, new diseases being dispensed." "Go on." "During the descent, the Chocolate Parfait Monster, that was what it was being called at the time, had suffered a bit of internal damage preventing the thing from being properly calibrated." "And you set off it anyway," Nataruma continued. "No. We did not. The scientists who were to arm and activate the bomb realized they could not activate it safely and set the self-destruct sequence and abandoned the Space/Time Oscillation Bomb to be destroyed." "But, how..." Nataruma trailed off in a bit of shock. "Enter our ancestor, the complete and utter moron, Kei Katsuragi. He looked at the bomb and saw that the exterior was undamaged and concluded that it was completely undamaged. He then flew down in his Bronco fighter and activated the bomb. His wing-mate Olson Verne had yelled at him that the bomb wasn't calibrated and told him to get out of there," Jon said and gave a heavy sigh. "Yes, it is an imperfect weapon. It is not moron proof. A mess created by a moron." "What do you mean by that?" "The Colonel has told you about that mosaic of worlds back then. That bomb affected a lot more than four universes and it did affect time and created very bizarre situations. People who were dead were now alive. People who were not related were now siblings. Thankfully, Kei realized the magnitude of his idiocy and worked to fix it by reactivating the original Space/Time Oscillation Bomb." "Why didn't your people just build a new bomb and take care of the problem?" Nataruma asked. "Couldn't. We did not have the calibration settings. The only way we could set the bomb off properly, is if Kei Katsuragi and Olson Verne entered the energy sphere holding the Space/Time Oscillation Bomb and died. The clean-up work that you and the Colonel tried to do could not have been avoided. Verne had aged sixteen years and Katsuragi had aged about a year. They were sent through time and emerged at different parts in the timeline. Verne was sent five years into the future, where Katsuragi was sent twenty years." "Due to their aging and the differences in their age..." Nataruma began. "They could not get the precise settings. They just got close enough," Jon finished. "Where are those two buried?" Nataruma asked. "Hovering in the skies above where the Space Elevator used to be in our world is a glowing white energy sphere. No one approaches it, because they know that inside that sphere is the original Space/Time Oscillation Bomb and the bodies of Kei Katsuragi and Olson Verne. It was left wandering around in the sky as a monument to as well as a warning of extreme stupidity." "Someday, I would like to see that. Maybe I can finally come to terms with who and what I am and what I have went through." "I have no idea if it will do any good or not, but for now we have this mission to try and get someone to keep the Shadows away from Domer Earth, maybe the Vorlons as well." The 'Dark Horizon' quickly made its way to its appointed destination in the Eeman universe. Nataruma took a deep breath and nodded. The ship flickered in a rainbow of colors before jumping back into the Domer universe. Nataruma took a few more stabilizing breaths and motioned to open communications. "Walkers, I am Nataruma. I am a representative of Earths Alliance. We have come to ask for help to keep both the Vorlons and Shadows from bothering us as we prepare for the upcoming conflict with the Radical Mu. If you are unable or unwilling to help us, can you please point us to a First Race that may help us out in this?" the blue haired girl stated. A massive stone ship appeared before the 'Dark Horizon'. Nataruma felt a bit of confusion coming from the Walker's ship and a lot of curiosity. Suddenly the image of a stone head with orange eyes and smoke pouring from its head appeared in front of Nataruma. "This request is not one that we did not expect. Your ship did something that the Vorlons would not allow. You have a signature that makes no sense. What are you?" "Are you telepathic? I can show you faster with projected images than with words," Nataruma replied. "If you can project, we can pick it up." Nataruma nodded and projected her entire life to the Walkers' image. She showed everything, including the mess with the Space Elevator and the dimensional stunts they were pulling off. She showed the meeting between Earths Alliance about the now revealed threat of the Radical Mu. After the projection was done, Nataruma felt shock and a bit of humor coming from the Walkers. "You have really caused problems for the Vorlons with that bomb of yours and what you gained from it. I have no idea why you are bothering us. You can protect yourselves." Nataruma closed her eyes for a moment before staring into the eyes of the Walkers' image. "The Mu are our problem and we will clean it up as much as we can, but we don't need or want interference from the Vorlons or Shadows while we are doing this." The Walkers were silent for a bit. Nataruma was nervous as she felt the psychic emanations of the Walkers discussing the request. Soon the attention was back on her. "We do not believe that you can stand against the threat of the Mu by yourselves. We will contact the other First Ones still around. When the Mu come, we will be there. As to the Vorlons and Shadows, you will have to deal with that on your own, since they will not listen to us or the others." "Thank you for being honest about the problem and for the help when the Radical Mu come," Nataruma stated. "We shall leave you now." The 'Dark Horizon' jumped back into the Eeman universe while the Walker ship floated above the planet. On board the ship, the Walkers were both amused and concerned about what had just been revealed to them The amusement was that a younger race managed to get one over on both the Vorlons and Shadows. The concerned part came from the information about the Mu. There was now a threat that was the bastardized synthesis of the worst of Shadow and Vorlon philosophies: mechanical creatures of order fighting to prove themselves the epitome of evolution in a chaotic conflict that would engulf the galaxy. The Walkers would contact the others to let them know of what was going on. They also respected Earths Alliance for telling them of the threat before it involved them, unlike what the Vorlons did so long ago. On Earth, Levy waited for the report from the 'Dark Horizon'. She soon saw the flicker of energy far up in the sky that was a ship jumping dimensions. The flicker of was near the Space Elevator and Levy shook her head in amused disbelief. 'How blas, we have become. We now accept jumping dimensions as a matter of fact. Then again, that was the smallest of the revelations.' About an hour later, Nataruma herself reported to President Levy. "I am sorry to say that the Walkers will not help in keeping the Vorlons or Shadows in check. They bluntly told us that those two races will refuse to listen to any of the others. They did say they will help when the Mu come and will contact the other First Ones for us," Nataruma stated. Levy shook her head and sighed. "It was a slim hope that they would get involved, but we had to try. We just keep preparing and hoping for the best and see what tomorrow brings." "What now?" Nataruma asked. "The hardest part of any campaign whether in war or in peace: we wait and see," Levy stated. "As for you personally, you will be traveling to other worlds and inspiring the people there. Hopefully, we have backed the Vorlons off for now. If and when the Shadows appear, they will probably attack Green Four and that will give us time to prepare." "You really think the Shadows will attack it?" Nataruma asked. "Maybe. It was created just to keep those two races away from Earth as much as possible. Since we have multiple stations like Green Four now out there, it should give the Shadows a bit of a pause and maybe a pose a question: Did the Vorlons steal Green Four and send it back in time? Our sealed borders and talking through robot proxies point to something like that." "But the Space/Time Oscillation Bomb...." "I know. That thing shattered the time loop, but the Shadows and Vorlons don't know that yet. My advisors, the Colonel, and I looked at what we had done and finally decided to keep going in this direction. Isolating ourselves and using robot proxies might keep both the Vorlons and Shadows away until the Mu attack." "This plan seems weak," Nataruma stated. "I know. It's a giant bluff to keep both of them at bay while we prepare. It is a weak plan that we formed after everything else we had done." "I'd better get back to the 'Dark Horizon' and get on with what you want me to do," Nataruma stated. Levy nodded and the hybrid girl left for the ship that she was assigned to or the ship that was assigned to her. Levy looked out her window to the Space Elevator. "I wonder what the other races are thinking of us right now?"
